It works but isn't well made
I bought one of these years ago and it failed so I tossed it in my parts bucket. I recently opened it to see what went wrong and it is one of the lowest quality electronic boards I have seen in years. It looks like something from the 1970s. Hopefully the board quality has improved from when this was originally introduced.

Tv has audio optical output but audio system had only audio coax input. This did the conversion as desired.

Toslink Optical to Coax converter
This unit works very well. I had a situation where Toslink was going through too many feed-throughs. The optical reflection back and forth at each interface caused the signal to be corrupted, and lost. Going coax through the feed-throughs solved the problem.

This converter is cheap, it works ok, it is not good enough to use in a high quality hifi, but it is ok for some uses.

Fantastic
Great price, works for converting audio for older AV receiver (make sure you get both pieces for conversion). I didn't want to shell out $400-800 for a new AV receiver, this will give you the audio out from your TV to the receiver.
