After years and years, I finally finished connecting my outdoor speakers by adding this to my system. I ordered the SS-4 and it arrived within a few days. Another few days and I finally got around to installing it. It was a snap to install. Another few days later and I installed my outdoor speakers. I turned on my system and tested the switch out - it worked and on the first try (that's a knock on my usual project outcome). My only complaint is that I should have bought the unit with the volume control. I have a long speaker wire run (50 ft. or so but used 12 ga. wire) and there is a significant volume difference between the speakers on the different switches. I'm guessing with the volume control I could address that. Overall though I am very pleased with the quality of the unit, ease of install and that my receiver does not seem affected by the added load.

This switch works well for what it does (switching speaker sets, room to room). My issue is the speaker wire inputs are so close together that it's almost impossible to cleanly do the wiring (even though I purchased gold plated wire connectors). I have "Monster" type oxygen free speaker wire and it doesn't fit into the small wiring inputs. My two main speakers are large Klipsch floor speakers, and I've had to downsize the speaker wire to be able to use this switch. Makes using high end speaker wire pointless.
