This fake bacon does the amazing job of filling in as a perfect substitute for real bacon. I LOVE real bacon, but since pigs are even more intelligent than dogs with the same capacity for bonding and dreaming, I no longer participate in the cruel unnecessary slaughter of this animal. But boy do I love me some bacon. This fake bacon tastes nearly identical to regular bacon. I eat it with bacon and eggs, on grilled cheeses and in BLTs. I'm so thankful that I can still enjoy that classic salty smokey flavor without the cruelty of regular bacon. Plus this is so much healthier without all of the dangerous nitrates found in traditional bacon. I fry it on a griddle with no oil and it cooks up to whatever crisp level you prefer.

Smells just like bacon and tastes pretty close too! The texture is very different, completely uniform, but as an autistic person with sensory issues around food textures it's almost an improvement for me. I love that it can be made in the microwave. Weird thing though is that while it's cooking it curls up like real bacon like it shows in the picture, but by the time it's done cooking it lays back down and is completely flat. Wish it would stay curled up but it's not that big a deal.

To me it’s close enough to tasting like bacon but my husband thinks it taste like cardboard. I like that you can fry it til it’s crisp but not the artificial ingredients.

This stuff is addicting. My daughter and I are trying to give up animal products and while this contains egg whites, it's 1000 times "less bad" for you than pork bacon. We can't figure out why we like it so much. Cooks easily (burns easily), little mess, nice and crispy. I will give this up one day but for now it's working for me to replace the moth unhealthy food on the planet (which tastes amazing btw). Why are so many reviewers saying it's "NOT VEGAN"? It doesn't say on the box that it's vegan. It says "Vegetarian Breakfast". Maybe a little misleading but no claim to be vegan.

Bacon wasn't healthy to begin with. Don't overcook and it will be good. Used as breakfast side, on BLT, on Gardein brand meatless burger. and crumbled in pasta salad. Fast and easy.

Giving 2 stars because even though it does have a cardboard appeal, I actually quite like the flavor & feel. BUT, I am disappointed Morning Star hasn’t made this vegan. I bought these recently thinking that they were but I was sadly wrong & disappointed. I see them making all these awesome new vegan products but I’m like ??? can we fix the simple bacon first?

I’m not a vegetarian, but this is the only bacon that I use. Not only is it consistently crispy and delicious and taste like bacon, I can make it on a paper towel in the microwave and there’s virtually no mess to clean up! I’ve tried others, but none compared to this. Absolutely the best.

Process Control Problems or Cost Savings, Kellogg?

My partner really enjoys meat alternatives, and these bacon strips are a staple in our freezer. However, when preparing these strips this morning, we used strips from two boxes and noticed some obvious differences that are cause for concern. If quality reads this, here is what you need to know: 1) Lot #s: - Box 1 = Jan 06 2024 UZA5 12:53 *cannot tell whether it's a U or a W - Box 2 = May 20 2024 WZC5 03:53 2) Noticeable difference in the size of the bacon strips, however no changes noticed in the nutrition facts. We still have about 9 servings per container and 2 strips per serving, however the NFP appears identical. Weights of the cooked strips (cooked in the same pan at the same time on an induction stove with well controlled heat) are as follows: - Box 1 - 5 grams - Box 2 - 7 grams How do we have a 30% variance in weight here? Caviat that my scale has not been calibrated, though I could find a calibrated scale to verify. It's also visually obvious but as a food scientist I felt the need to quantify. Your website is glitching when I try to attach photos, but feel free to email me and I'm happy to send some over.

Tastes Very Good

I decided to go vegan last summer. I used to eat turkey bacon. I was delighted upon discovering Morning Star bacon. I bake is in my counter top oven. It take about 10 minutes on each side to get crispy. I will never eat any other brand. I have recommended this product to others and encouraged them to go vegan as well. Since least June I have lost 71 pounds by changing my diet.
