Q: Is this salt coarse or has it already been ground?

submitted by Abby - 6 years ago
  • A: This has been ground. Usually the package for coarse salt will say “coarse” on it, but if you can’t find that, kosher salt is coarse.

submitted byDeathByWiFi - 6 years ago
  • A: Morton® All-Purpose Sea Salt measures like table salt, making it easy to use in all your cooking and baking. The crystal size is fine, again similar to table salt. Morton® Natural Sea Salt has no additives and is 100% natural.

  • A: Ground, same texture as regular salt.

Q: I have food sensitivities. Can you tell me if the dextrose is from corn or wheat? Thanks.

Q: Can this be used in a salt grinder or is it too fine?

submitted by mwlt - 2 years ago
  • A: Morton Iodized Sea Salt in the 26 oz. container is considered a finer grain and may not work very well in a salt grinder. For use in your salt grinder, we recommend Morton Extra Coarse Sea Salt Grinder Refill which is available in a 14 oz. container.

Q: The label info says Sodium 590mg, but ingredient list says Potassium chloride (not Sodium Chloride).

submitted by NaOrK - 2 years ago
  • A: The ingredient list for Morton Iodized Sea Salt includes: Sea Salt, Calcium Silicate, Dextrose, Potassium Iodide. This product does not contain potassium chloride.

Q: What makes it "sea" salt? Is it from a certain area that is different from where you collect your normal salt (dry "sea" beds)?

submitted by - 4 years ago
  • A: Morton Iodized Sea Salt is made through evaporation of sea water by the sun. The sea water is sourced from the Bahamas. Look for "Product of Bahamas" stamped on the package container.

Sea salt has selenium which helps with hair fall related deficiencies. In addition this salt has Iodine. Good product. I was a little disappointed when I opened it as the granules were fine like table salt. I expected it to have more texture like Kosher salt. Hence 4 stars!

I love sea salt and love that this is iodized. Previously, I couldn't use sea salt for all my cooking because it's typically not iodized; however, this has gotten rid of that problem.

Fresh sea salt flavor and the iodine my body needs

5 out of 5 stars

For those who do not consume saltwater fish and other seafood, including saltwater sea vegetables, iodized salt is an important dietary supplement table salt. Table salt with added iodine was first sold in the United States in 1924 to provide the small but important amount of iodine needed in our daily diet. The sturdy round cardboard cylinder with the metal pour spout on top is the classic Morton salt container. Humidity is a problem where I live and causes salt to clump, but adding a few grains of uncooked rice to the salt shaker works well. These sea salt crystals are just a little larger than standard table salt but still shake out easily from a salt shaker, and the flavor strength is the same, so you do not need to adjust recipe measurements. Morton Iodized Sea Salt provides both full-bodied flavor and the iodine my body needs to stay healthy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I received this MORTON® 26 oz Iodized Sea Salt for my honest review. I really like this salt. It's iodized, which is optimal for health, and it's sea salt, from the Bahamas. Very good salt. I would definitely recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Our family loves salty foods. Love adding salt to almost everything. I was a bit worried trying this brand we all know and love but the sea salt option. I have to say. There’s def a slight difference. I can’t really say how but it doesn’t taste much different than our usual table salt. The kids haven’t said anything either. Think we may be adding this to our seasoning cabinets. Ty! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I got another container of salt as we were running low at home. I usually don't get the sea salt kind, but I was happy that I tried something new. The salt is fine crystals and works great in baking. The taste is a little different raw, but I think I like it better than the normal kind. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Iodized

Morton salt has been seemingly been around forever. It is a staple in many kitchens and have always been associated with high quality. The Morton Iodized Seat Salt is no exception. It comes in the traditional cardboard style salt container with a metal pour spout. The sea salt crystals are slightly larger than regular salt but not overtly huge like some other sea salts I have seen. This product is iodized so it will replenish iodide in your body if you are deficient. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Iodized sea salt!

I have been using sea salt for many years, leaving the standard iodized salt primarily for baking, however, have been concerned with health risks due to the lack of iodine in our diet, therefore, needing to supplement. I was excited to use this salt and am very happy with it! The salt is a bit more course than standard iodized salt which I really like, yet, fine enough to be used in a standard salt shaker. I keep a salt dish by the stove to add a punch at a time to my cooking. I will definitely continue using this salt. thank you Morton! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I am always reminded of when I was a child and there was always Morton salt in the cabinet. What would life be without the little girl with her umbrella? This one raises the bar with idiodized sea salt! Wonderful! The crystals are not chunky like some sea salts and they really flavor food. I always like to use iodized salt and many sea salts are not. Morton Iodized Sea Salt covers all the bases. This is a great addition to the Morton Salt line. I'm very glad I found this! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
