Review Quotes

'This excellent, readable, book looks at the motorsport industry in a new light: that of a business that is on the verge of becoming global in its activities and with some of the aspects of globalisation already in place. This involves the consumption of motorsport products through the media and merchandise and the production of inputs that make up motorsport such as circuits, cars and their supply chains. The authors look at various future scenarios to try to identify where the industry is going and the possible winners and losers. It is clear that the motorsport industry is facing opportunities that are unique in scope and scale but will it take them? The authors present intriguing answers to this question. The process of globalisation means that new countries will challenge the existing motorsport clusters but will also demand a more sustainable industry. The industry's response to the latter could place it mainstream in the world's automotive industry as never before. This bookis a must read for those concerned about motorsport's traditional clusters, as they need to be forewarned of the challenges and ready with solutions.' Professor D G Rhys CBE, Director, Centre for Automotive Industry Research, Cardiff University Business School and Member of the UK's Motor Racing Development Board.

'Racing is truly a global enterprise, and it's expanding every year. There is no one more qualified than Chris Aylett to discuss the business of motorsport on a global scale. The racing industry is an extraordinarily dynamic worldwide market. This book does an excellent job in capturing its scope and robust vitality.' Steve Lewis, Owner/Publisher of Performance Racing Industry magazine and the PRI Show, the largest racing industry trade event in the world.

'It's full of interesting snippets of info to pick out one at a time.' - Autosport

'The authors, all experienced business analysts and motorsport industry experts, offer a comprehensive assessment ofthe current state of the world's motorsport industry and suggest a number of likely future scenarios as it grasps - or misses - the opportunities provided by globalisation.' - Motorsport

'This book draws on a decade of specialised research within the competitive buisness environment of motorsport...Provides a unique insight into the high-tech business world of motorsport and how its leaders plan to embrace growing global opportunities.' - The Marshall
