Step 1: CHECK if you suspect an overdose: CHECK for a suspected overdose: the person will not wake up or is very sleepy or not breathing well yell "Wake up!" shake the person gently if the person is not awake, go to Step 2 Step 2: GIVE 1st dose in the nose HOLD the nasal spray device with your thumb on the bottom of the plunger INSERT the nozzle into either NOSTRIL PRESS the plunger firmly to give the 1st dose 1 nasal spray device contains 1 dose Step 3: CALL CALL 911 immediately after giving the 1st dose Step 4: WATCH & GIVE WAIT 2-3 minutes after the 1st dose to give the medicine time to work if the person wakes up: Go to Step 5 if the person does not wake up: CONTINUE TO GIVE doses every 2-3 minutes until the person wakes up it is safe to keep giving doses Step 5: STAY STAY until ambulance arrives: even if the person wakes up GIVE another dose if the person becomes very sleepy again You may need to give all the doses in the packOther information

Q: I understand that using nalaxone can result in sudden, severe opioid withdrawal. Is this something an untrained person can handle until until emergency responders arrive?

A: Yes, an untrained person should be able to handle it until help arrives. The alternative is to watch the person die. Do you think the untrained person would be able to handle that?

A: Hello, Confirming each carton of NARCAN® Nasal Spray includes 2 single-dose nasal spray devices. It is recommended to give 1 dose into either nostril and wait 2-3 minutes after the 1st dose to give the medicine time to work. A: Naloxone will not harm someone who does not Have opioids in their system. If someone is having a medical emergency other than an opioid overdose - it will not cause harm (fda.gov)

Grateful to finally be able to just buy these. Got 2 for our community preschools emergency kits (public could access grounds after hours) and 1 each for me and my hubby to carry around. Take a minute to watch a video on how to administer. It's not rocket science, but the extra background info is valuable. Safe to use on kiddos (God forbid you need it) and apparently keeps over 90% efficacy for at least 20 years after printed date, if it hasn't been in extreme temps. Cars will get too hot in the summer. Learned a lot researching today, lol. Good luck out there - and good lookin out for each other!
