Moving to the UK from Germany in 2018, Julius's career in food began in earnest during the pandemic - hosting sourdough baking classes under the name "Baking Hermann". He then went on to be a food stylist at Jamie Oliver's HQ. I’ve followed Julius on social media for a while, before he switched to vegan cooking. His joyful “wúnderbar” catchphrase became a part of my daily vocab! His energy and passion for food was electric and drew me in. When he started on his vegan path I was intrigued. I made a few of his online recipes and was so surprised by how amazing they tasted. As soon as I saw he was writing a book I knew I needed it! I cannot wait to dig in to some of the amazing sounding dishes, and learn about vegan food from around the world! An absolute gem of a book from an absolute gem of a human!

Naturally Vegan by Julius Fiedler is a beautifully crafted cookbook that offers more than just plant-based recipes. It weaves in the cultural roots behind each dish, making it both nourishing and educational. With recipes ranging from appetizers to full meals, the book is thoughtfully organized and accessible, even for those new to vegan cooking or unfamiliar with food history. As someone who doesn’t know much about the origins of different cuisines, I really appreciated the short historical notes that accompany each recipe. It’s a delightful blend of flavor and learning.
