Q: Is this new system going to have built it games or actual games to buy?

submitted by Quedlce - 9 years ago
  • A: This new system has the option of playing physical games as well as downloading them to the system to buy.

submitted byTito - 9 years ago
  • A: It will not come equipped with any games, physically or downloaded. On release, there are a couple of games coming out that you can buy with this system, and there are some bundled Switch options that come with multiple games for a steeper cost.

    submitted byCherryb6mb - 9 years ago
  • A: The games come in cartridge form (similar to a SD card or a 3DS game, for reference). While eventual plans with the online subscription indicate that there will be downloadable games, it seems the traditional format (games purchased separately) is still the method this system is utilizing.

submitted byNintendoAnswers - 9 years ago
  • A: Games to buy. None are built in.

submitted byJim - 7 years ago
  • A: Is this one the first generation

submitted byRg - 27 days ago
  • A: You have to buy actual games :)

submitted byQueuepons - 9 years ago
  • A: You have to buy games for this system. Some are for pre-order now, but may already be sold out for a while. None are included with the system. You will also be able to buy games for download on the system.

submitted byCor - 9 years ago
  • A: You can either download the games digitally or go for a hard copy of the game cartridges.

    submitted byShad224 - 9 years ago
  • A: How many controllers come with this system?

submitted byMusicalmagical - 8 months ago
  • A: Nope. All games are sold separately, and the release titles consist of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild", and "1, 2 Switch!" And a few others. They will still have the EStore on this console most likely.

submitted byNintendo Freak - 9 years ago
  • A: No, the Switch does not have any games bundled with it. You will have to buy games separately.

submitted byKim - 9 years ago
  • A: Hi Quedlce. Nintendo switch have games to buy.

  • A: You will be able to purchase games on the Nintendo Eshop but nothing will come "pre-installed" on the system.

submitted byIcyBones - 9 years ago
  • A: No built in games yet that we know of but probably not. This console uses Cartridges and no it also won't work with 3ds games.

submitted bykevporteretna - 9 years ago

submitted byAmiyumi - 2 years ago

  • A: It does not play Wii U games

    submitted byShad224 - 9 years ago
  • A: No it does not play Wii U Games. This console uses Cartridges and not it also won't work with 3ds games.

submitted bykevporteretna - 9 years ago
  • A: They will have ports of games from the Wii U, such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but will not be able to play the WiiU discs. The Nintendo Switch uses cartridges to run games and does not have a disc reader, thus making it impossible to play WiiU games.

    submitted byMikhail K - 9 years ago
  • A: No, the Switch does not have a disc drive so it is not compatible with Wii U games.

submitted byKim - 9 years ago
  • A: No. Only Nintendo Switch games.

submitted byJim - 7 years ago
  • A: No, it will only work with Nintendo Switch games.

Q: Is this the latest version of the Nintendo switch that came out this summer with longer lasting battery life?

submitted by Jaxon - 6 years ago
  • A: No that was the lite which is a mobile only device

submitted byMacie - 6 years ago
  • A: There is a lot of misinformation being spread on this question. There are, in fact, 2 different model numbers for the Switch that has the longer lasting battery. The very latest one starts with HAD, as another answer states. However, the earliest units that have the improved battery came with a model number HAC-001(-01), as yet another person stated. There is also a difference in the box art (as yet a third person stated). The specs provided indicate this is the Switch with the longer lasting battery, as it indicates HAC-001(-01), and it also has the newer box art. However, if you want to be ABSOLUTELY SURE this is the longer lasting battery, since this model reflects the HAC-001(-01) model number, you should also check the serial number. For the HAC models, the serial number MUST start with XKW. If it does not, look for one that does before purchasing.

submitted bySuperman - 6 years ago
  • A: Macie's answer is 100% incorrect. This IS the new model with the longer battery life. You can tell by the red box. The original model had a white box.

submitted byJonathan - 6 years ago
  • A: It is, up to 8 hrs if fully charged I believe. It’s definitely worth it.

    submitted byNoob1234 - 6 years ago
  • A: No no no!!! This has the picture of the new box but the model # on the specs is the old which starts with HAC. The new model starts with HAD

submitted byMary - 6 years ago
  • A: Hi, Jaxon! Regarding your question about the Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Con: No, you may be referring to the Nintendo Switch Lite. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact MyTGTtech at 877-698-4883 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

  • A: this model number ending with -01 is the newest model with longer battery life. Description when I looked it up says it can be played on TV, by tablet or hand held

submitted byKarma Rose - 6 years ago
  • A: Yes, it is the new model of the Nintendo Switch with the longer battery. No, it is not the Nintendo Switch Lite. The Model number for the new switch with the bigger battery is the same as the old one except with a "(-01)" following it, which this one has. "HAC-001(-01)" is the one in the description and it has the (-01), so it is the newer switch.

submitted byZachH - 6 years ago
  • A: Yes this is the one with up to 9 hours of battery. The most it can be.

submitted bySamuel - 5 years ago
  • A: the lite does have a longer battery life Macie

Q: What games will this be compatible with?

submitted by jenjonesnc - 9 years ago
  • A: why would you even want to play wii u games the only good one was nintendo land u silly goose. in the big 25 all most of the 1st party nintendo games were ported to switch

submitted bythedude - 2 months ago
  • A: It will only play Switch Games that come out for it. It is not backward compatible.

submitted bykevporteretna - 9 years ago
  • A: No backwards compatibility for other consoles' have discs or consoles. Only Nintendo Switch games can be inserted. Nintendo has announced they will be supporting downloadable NES and SNES games. History suggests they will probably support other consoles as well, but you will need to download them (and probably repurchase them).

Q: Does it come with any games?

submitted by Bendito33 - 9 years ago
  • A: Nintendo has stated that in order to keep the price of the console at $299, the console will not be bundled with any games at launch.

submitted byBrian - 9 years ago

submitted bydave - 9 years ago

submitted byQueuepons - 9 years ago

Q: Does the Switch come with the part in between the Joy-Con controllers or do you have to hold them separately unless you buy the accessory to hold them together?

submitted by Ariana - 8 years ago
  • A: A Joy-Con controller grip (combines the two Joy-Cons together to form one controller) comes in the box with the Switch. There is another that you can buy separately for $30 that looks the same but has the feature to charge the controllers while connected to the grip. The Joy-Cons do have around a 20 hour battery life, just need to remember to slot them back onto the switch when you are between play sessions.

submitted byPSYZON - 8 years ago
  • A: The one that comes with the console DOES NOT charge the JoyCons. You will need to buy the JoyCon charging charging grip for $30.

submitted bySepioth - 8 years ago
  • A: It comes with the part between to hold them while it is in the docked position.

submitted byHylianKnight - 8 years ago
  • A: Yup! It is called the "Joy-Con Grip" and it is included with everything else.

submitted byCulmanO - 8 years ago

Q: If we pre-order, will it arrive on the 3rd? Or will it only be shipped on the 3rd?

submitted by Kuro The Cat - 9 years ago
  • A: I chatted with someone in support today and they claimed that preorders will DELIVER on the 3rd. So I'm counting on that

submitted byStreetSharks - 8 years ago
  • A: If you paid $15 for shipping it is supposed to arrive on release day.

submitted byPais - 9 years ago
  • A: I paid $15 for it to arrive on release day, but now the expected arrival date is the 4th. So we'll see.

submitted byBen - 9 years ago
  • A: The support rep I just spoke with said that pre-orders should ship on the 2nd and arrive on the 3rd (even with the free shipping option) unless there is an issue with the carrier. Mine showed a later date, but that is just a placeholder.

Q: Does the Nintendo Switch have bluetooth?

submitted by koretexmex - 9 years ago
  • A: To my knowledge Nintendo has not announced if it will allow third party devices but Nintendo has been using Bluetooth since the Wii. I would assume it will because it is a mobile device and they would want to allow headsets to work on it anywhere.

submitted byIcyBones - 9 years ago
  • A: Yes it will have Bluetooth built into the consol

submitted byNintendo Freak - 9 years ago
  • A: The console specifications do not indicate that it has bluetooth capability.

submitted byRekoor - 9 years ago
  • A: No. It only has WiFi capabilities.

Q: Is there a difference between the new version or the old version???¿¿¿ Thank You

submitted by Josh - 5 years ago
  • A: The new version, only sold in the red box, has a much better battery life. The old version would be sold in a white box.

submitted bygavin - 5 years ago
  • A: The difference between the two is that the new version has more battery life, unlike the old one.

submitted bywhitewolf - 5 years ago
  • A: Hi, Josh! Regarding your question about the Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Con: Yes! The new model has a better battery life than the old model, and a new processor that is more energy efficient than the previous one. It also has a better screen and has runs at a lower temperature in general compared to the original Nintendo Switch.
