L-Lysine is an essential amino acid, which means that it cannot be manufactured by the body and must be obtained through the diet or by supplementation. Lysine is necessary for the production of all protein in the body including hormones, enzymes, and antibodies, as well as carnitine and collagen, which is the structural protein forming all connective tissue such as skin, tendon, and bone. L-Lysine is a specific amino acid very useful in many metabolic mechanisms. I have found it extremely useful in arresting the advancement of herpes simplex, no need for pharmaceuticals. Formula dose of 1000 mg/pill is accurate. At a reasonable price and I would recommend this product.

Too big for me.
I'll never know if these are any good or not. The pills are enormous. I took only one and it got stuck in my throat. Very disconcerting. I could have choked to death.

I love my 1,000. mg tablets. They are big! I put them into my first cup of coffee, they dissolve well and do not change the taste of my coffee. Great product for those of us who want a high dosage of L-Lysine.

Large pill
I take 1000 mg of Lysine daily and this is an inexpensive formula for me to get that dosage. The pill is rather large, but it is effective.

Very Effective
I use this product daily. I wish they weren't so huge and of a chalky texture which combined makes it harder to swallow. I've found a product with equal strength in a smaller size pill and a smoother texture but it's more expensive.

Hard to find dosage
This Lysine 1000 mg. pill is large but easy to swallow, it is an oblong shaped pill with rounded edges. I could not find this info anywhere online and thought I'd pass it along, as I am picky about the shape of my pills. I will order these again.
