usually im not one to leave reviews, but ive struggled with cold sores since i was little and NOTHING helped.. but this pill works wonders. the cold sore is gone completely within a week! i also use the lysine medicine you put on along with taking this pill every morning. i would definitely recommend this product if you are prone to cold sores!! they are a little big but if you cut it in half its much easier to take!

I started taking this when I had a cold sore and the swelling has gone down significantly over the past 3 days. Typically my cold sore will last for 2 weeks. By the rate of how things are going I believe the cold sore will be completely healed in a week, rather than 2.

BEWARE I’d the size! I started taking this after reading an article on amino acids. I also suffer from cold sores and use prescription Acyclovir cream. I wanted to add this in as an extra measure. I don’t know why I thought I could down this entire pill and the first time I took it I choked with it lodged in my throat! After 10 minutes of trying it get it to go down or come up and drinking water, it finally went down. Please do yourself a favor and cut the pill down! I love Nature Made out these pills are literally a hazard!

I have suffered from cold sores since I was a child. They are the grossest things ever. I have used Abreva and that stuff doesn’t work at all. What a waste of money. I recently started a new job and it is very stressful at times. The stress has caused the cold sores to flare up a lot this summer. Ugh! I looked online for products that could possibly help and I found L Lysine. Thank Jesus! This product is amazing. I take one pill a day to keep cold sores away. I also use Lysine+ lip ointment and I am now free from the nasty cold sores.

helps with the herp, cold sores and otherwise. I think it works better than the antivirals. I take it when I feel a sore starting to come and I haven't had an outbreak in several years. I try and take it for at least 5 days straight to prevent, it's hard to swallow so I take it only when I need to. I forgot to bring some when I went on vacation and I unfortunately had a sore. this was the only time since I was diagnosed, so I am very sure this stuff works.

Lysine supplements are the most daunting pills I have ever taken in my life. I have tried it from multiple brands and they are always exceptionally large. I like this one over many other brands because the oval shape is easier to swallow than the circular one. Also, unlike the target branded alternative, all 1000mg are in one pill instead of the two that make up 1 serving. I take it for cold sores and it definitely works when I up the dosage to 2000 mg when I feel an outbreak coming. I also use Lysine lip clear on the locations I feel a cold sore coming so that it won't actually become a blister.
Impossible to safely swallow, at least for me.

Don’t buy this pill because you risk choking on it due to the size. It is over 3/4 of an inch long and quite thick as well. Nature made as a fine company which I have used for 30 years. This 1000 mg L lysine however is a poorly delivered choice. In the photo below I have placed the pill next to my magnesium and D3 vitamins. I tried using a pharmaceutical cutter but the half pill was too sharp as it went down my throat, so I won’t be doing that again. I will try to return it and hope that Target has a generous policy.
