This had the WORST heat spike I have ever experienced with builder gel. I have tried lots of different brands, and I've never had anything hurt as bad as this. Also, it lifted immediately after curing. Don't waste your time on this.

A strong heat spike can sometimes happen if the builder gel is applied too thick, so a quick tip is to work in very thin layers and flash‑cure for a few seconds before doing a full cure to help reduce that reaction. It’s a little runnier than what I’m use to for builder gel. It layers nicely but you might spend more time cleaning up the cuticle area and drilling to make it even. Also curing it for two minutes under my UV light didn’t fully dry it, I had to use rubbing alcohol to remove the sticky layer (for sanding purposes) if you manage to get it even you wouldn’t need to. Love the color though

A quick tip is to work in very thin layers, flash‑cure for a few seconds if needed to prevent flooding, and make sure each layer gets the full 2‑minute cure before moving on; the sticky layer after curing is normal and only needs to be wiped if you’re filing or shaping. Comes off within hours
I’m an Olive and June fan, and was excited to try the builder gel. My first attempt led to the gel coming off within 3-4 hours of first applying. I thought user error tried a few days later following the directions to the letter. Same result. It just pops right off the nail like a press on. Disappointed.

I’m really sorry to hear that 💔 When builder gel pops off that quickly, a quick tip that can sometimes help is making sure the nail is fully dehydrated right before application (wipe with acetone) and capping the free edge on every layer to help it adhere better. Sky blue filter is not blue

Great colors w/a slight learning curve!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been an O+J Bestie for years and really love the addition of the builder gel as a product. The colors (I have Creme Caramel) are on the sheerer side and getting the hang of the using the complete kit is taking time, but the finish and consistency of the gels is worthwhile. Be patient and keep trying: you'll see the growth as I am witnessing!

Started using builder gel after stopping biting my nail to make them stronger. Love the burgundy color and the sheen lasted more than three weeks. The formula has a great consistency and applies perfectly

don’t buy this
This peels off literal hours after application. I’ve tried everything - PH bonder, buffing, even the base coat they claim you shouldn’t need - and absolutely nothing will get this builder to actually stay on my nails. Unfortunately it’s a no.

Falls off instantly

I also followed the directions and didn't put a base coat but the polish fell off within and hour of curing. You nail strengthener has been great for my nails! And you normal gel polish has been wonderful as well! Really not sure what I am doing wrong with the builder gel.

Will not stay on. I watch every tutorial from olive and June and do all the things. It ALWAYS peels off after a day or two. So frustrating because I love the color and look when it’s on. Disappointing.

Cures nice and hard
This cures super hard so I use it as a base for my weak nails then I can do just 1 coat of a sheer without worrying about my thin nails breaking. Even if I’m using a non her color, I put this on first to harden everything up. I love this stuff.

My perfect sheer!

I loved one coat for a “your nails but better” option. Then I paint my long lasting over when I need a change and still have gorgeous nails when the polish comes off.

Not for the impatient
If you would not consider yourself to be patient and willing to learn through lots of trial and error, don’t consider buying this. If you have experience doing your own gel manicures and are willing to watch videos to help with the learning curve, you’ll figure it out. I went through an entire bottle of this before I got the hang and now it’s lasting me a little over 2 weeks. Prepping your nails properly and learning the correct way to build an apex are key here. If it’s peeling off, change your prep and watch how to properly use the small brush to take the gel out and seal it on.

love it!! the polish stays much longer than their other gel for me and is so much smoother and useable. it's obviously a learning curve (check out their website for a tutorial) and the right prep work but it worked perfectly for me! this color was by far the best for my fair skin tone! neutral while still having some color
