Organic Maca by Now Foods - 7 oz Powder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried other Maca Powders in the past. This is one of my favorites!!! Tastes a bit nutty, but mixes well in a smoothie with Cocoa Powder.

This claims to be gelatinized but it causes massive gas/bloating issues. Tastes awful tried it in almond milk and fruit juice. If you have a sensitive stomach I wouldn't try this brand. I've read the capsules might be better.

Pretty much all you need to know about MACA can be summed up in two words: MACHU PICCHU. This mountain top estate in the Peruvian Andes built around 1450 by the Incas, now considered one of the Wonders of the World, is undeniable evidence of the great wisdom and power of those Incas. MACA is purported to be an important, significant food of today's Peruvians living in that region of the Andes, as it was with the mysterious and mighty Incas centuries before. Who am I to argue with MACHU PICCHU? I have read all over the internet, in reliable printed publications, as well as on Swanson's website how useful MACA is, and is reported to have been for centuries, as a primary food staple for energy, stamina, vitality, and longevity. As with old sayings, a centuries old nutrient would no longer be in favor if there weren't validity to it. I'm a believer. . . . MACHU PICCHU. . . . MACA. Works for me. Good to know: This NOW Foods Pure Certified Organic MACA Powder is a wonderful product. Very user friendly and effective. I put a big rounded tsp of this MACA into any of my different 'green drinks' I put together every day. Taste is fine; I really don't even notice it. Miscibility is fine whether I stir it, shake it, or use the blender. My healthy cocktails with MACA provide me with everything the articles and claims say. It's all good. Another reason I choose this MACA Powder from NOW Foods is that it is a 6:1 Concentrate, giving me more 'MACHU PICCHU.' Looks to me like this makes NOW's MACA the best buy, too. Swanson's price is great, a fraction of the price down at the local Natural Markets and Vitamin Stores. This is all good.

This stuff tastes terrible! My second order was in cap form. No matter what I mixed it in, hot or cold, it was awful! It has a very earthy, mineral, dirt or clay sort of taste. Not my favorite. I would recommend the caps instead.

Started taking Maca Pure Powder three weeks ago and I have more energy after I take it and feel good.I think this product is great.

Combined with tribulus I have noticed a huge benefit in my libido and energy. Somehow it seems to enhance the romance & improve focus in the bedroom- to be blunt. I've shopped around and Swanson has the best price-again!

A highly effective Maca powder without the sugar. Great stuff.

I have used other Maca product and like this the best because it is a concentrate. Smaller packaging and smaller scoops mean more space in the cabinet.

Down to half the bottle now and this stuff rocks!! Keeps me awake in class with no need for coffee. I mix it with unsweetned cocoa powder to make a morning cup of cocoa and the too give me great energy. Slightly calming at first though which is nice. Theres no jittery feeling. Highly recommended it in this form. Very easy to use and taste good. I found it much more effective than the capsules.

Smells similar to gingerbread, but it sure doesn't taste like it. I noticed a calming effect sometimes mixed with energy when taking 1/2 - 1 Tsp. It seems to vary it's effects depending on hormonal cycles of the day I guess, but the calming effect is usually always felt. This depends on the person though.

This maca pure powder is a lot more potent than others on the market. Work up slowly to the recommended dosage!

Use this with other ingredients to make John Gray's yummy shake.

This tastes like unsweetened graham crackers to me...I like it! I mixed a teaspoon of this into a half glass full of milk with some chia seeds and a little bit of stevia for added sweetness and it was yummy! I'm thinking this would be good with warmed milk and stevia since it has that graham cracker taste...it would be like and alternative to hot chocolate perhaps? Taste aside I feel more alert and energized. Not jittery or hyper, just overall better. I have not been using this very long so I can not comment on any other possible affects it has on me. I have recommened this to friends though.
