Tastes and smells like potting soil. Even after washing it and cooking it in our instapot with filtered/osmosis water, it still smelled like dirt. Will never buy it again!!

It tastes like dirt! I normally wash ands rinse my rice and add filtered water to cook my rice. I thought it was my water but it smells fine. It’s the rice! The texture is weird too. It’s dry and it lacks a bit of stickiness. I thought I had accidentally bought par cooked rice but it says nothing about that on the label. Don’t buy. It’s just tastes awful!

I did not like the smell of this rice and the taste was horrible. At first I thought it was me, but seeing all the other reviews I guess everyone experience the same thing I will not be purchasing this brand anymore.

Smells like dirt and has a weird taste. I agree with the other review that said it’s kinda like swampy lake water. The texture is also weird. Wouldn’t feed this to my dog.

Has a weird flavor . Oddly like grass clippings were mixed in it . Makes it seem like it wasn’t cleaned well. I washed and strained it 3 xs before cooking but it still doesn’t taste right .

The first time I bought this rice and there was one little black bug crawling around inside the bag, I shrugged it off - the most stringent quality control can't catch everything, I thought. But the second bag had dozens of little bugs creepy-crawling over - and clinging to - the grains, which I was too squeamish to overlook.

Gross. Just opened up this bag of rice and there’s pantry moths in it. Literally been completely sealed until 5 minutes ago and now there’s a dozen moths flying about my house. And now I’m going to have to keep checking all my pantry items to make sure they don’t lay eggs and I get an infestation.

My entire family enjoys this brown rice. It's great plain instead of white rice, give it a try. I use leftover to make stir fried rice with veggies and leftover meat too if I have any. Affordable price for the almost 2 pounds. This mom approves 👍

While I love rice and have been eating brown (and other colors) of whole grain rice for decades, this one is not for me. The grains are small and they have a strange texture, and none of the typical rice flavor, which has so far ruined the dishes I've made with it. I followed the directions, and for later batches tried more water and longer cooking times, but it still tastes & feels the same. I like that it is organically grown, and that it is whole grain, but if I don't like the texture I won't use it for much, except perhaps in soups where the texture will not be so noticeable. If I don't like it, regardless of being whole grain and organic, it is not a good value for me.

Maybe I just received a bad batch, but this was the first time I'd purchased this brand of organic brown rice and it's not my favorite. I won't be purchasing this again. If I had to describe the unusual flavor, it's like the rice was cooked in lake water. It just has a funny flavor to it that *can* be covered up to a degree with other flavorings, mix-ins, etc, but it just doesn't have a great flavor while it's plain. I've purchased other brands of organic brown rice that have a typical nutty flavor to them, but this one is lacking that. Again, could have been just my batch for some reason, but I thought I'd leave a review, which I hardly ever do.
