OtterBox iPhone 16 Pro Commuter Series Case with MagSafe - Black: Solid Plastic Protection

Love this case. It is sturdy yet fits fine in my husband’s pocket. It works great with an external circle charger too.

I’m sure I’m far from the first to point out that the design for the iPhone 16s is arguably the worst that Otterbox has put out since making a name for themselves in this market. I don’t know who thought it was a good idea to leave such a large part of the screen unprotected for the sake of one button, but it seems absurd. 3 stars instead of zero because the case is fine in all other respects. But that one flaw means you’ve got a fair chance of losing your phone to damage that could’ve been easily avoided, as we’ve seen in the designs from other companies that made accommodations for the button without sacrificing protection. Do better, Otterbox. I only ordered it because it was free and I was in a pinch. I won’t be using it.

I’ve had my new phone & case for less than 1month. I believe the iPhone 16 is a flawed design! Otter box case does not cover/protect the entire phone due to the new button on bottom right causing screen protector to crack/damage easily & frequently

I’ve had several OtterBox phone cases and have never had any problems. They continue to make a high quality product at a fair price. I’ll probably continue to purchase them when it’s time for my next case.

I had been a loyal otterbox user for many iPhones but now they handled the new camera side button was awful leaving it cut out and the phone edge completely exposed and uncomfortable to hold. I returned it and discovered velvet caviar, great protection, better design regarding the button and FUN patterns.

As you’d expect. Good solid case as you’d expect from OtterBox.

I have used OtterBox for years and they never disappoint, after each iPhone and iPad that I get i always go with OtterBox, this specific case is perfect for the new iPhone 16!

The case is protective on back or front, fits the phone, allows for full function of the phone, good grip in hand.

I am not a fan of this case, when you pull the phone out of your pocket it slides out of the case entirely. The reason I purchased an otter box is due to the durability of it, but if my phone slides out every time I take it from my pocket it's not serving the function. Will likely be returning.

I love that this case is two parts. It has worked really well including on a (second day) drop from about 5ft on concrete. I do worry that the buttons will be a bit more susceptible to wear and tear than the hard plastic but since that’s just a worry, 5 stars it is.

I chose no substitute for my item! Received the defender pro not the commuter when I did order pickup went inside (which defeated the purpose of order pickup) to resolve and they came back with yet another defender pro! Target will mail me the commuter when I return what I picked up but in the mean time how am I supposed to protect this $1300 iPhone? Got a $65 phone cause for $45 and I don’t even want it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Otterbox is the standard for tough cell phone cases. I like the dense plastic shell, I think it’ll hold up well to drops. It is a bit bulky for my small hands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is nice. Not as sturdy as the old style fully enclosed model. I've had several otterboxes and they all hold up great. there is virtually no protection in this area.

Have been using the Commuter series for a while, best case for not being too bulky but still giving drop protection. The side cut out for the camera button took some getting used to, but after a week or so feels normal. Same good quality as usual.

Awesome case! Fits great! I feel my iPhone is totally secure! It’s perfect for me as I don’t have fear of dropping because of its design! These are the best iPhone cases ever!

After using this case for the past six weeks, I can firmly say that it simply does not feel good to hold in your hands. The cut out for the new side camera button makes the phone awkward to hold while texting and scrolling. This is the worst feature of the case, as it will force you to constantly reposition the phone in your hands. Additionally, the protruding volume and lock buttons will have you taking accidental screenshots while repositioning the phone in your hands, as there is little room on the case for your hands to go. Unlike the other Otterboxes I’ve had in the past, this case makes my hands cramp after mere minutes of use. I would not recommend this case to anyone.

These are great. I have been using this model for years with different phones. I do seem to have to replace ti every year because the plastic part breaks. That's a drag and I do wish I could just buy a new plastic shell. But they offer good protection without being too bulky.

After having the commuter case for my old IPhone 13, I had the same expectations for the IPhone 16 version. Only think I don’t like, is there were extra pads that were on the lower back body of the case that allowed for a more cushioned resting position that also helped protect the cameras. This one doesn’t have those additional pads and it doesn’t seem to have the same cushion when placed on a hard surface. Otherwise… solid case and worth the money.
