We never had any issue with this ottoman breaking, but it does make noises that make me think it could easily break. The buttons on the top have quite deep dimples and when any weight is put on the buttons some cracking noises are heard. Also it seems that the side walls are made of thin wood. When pressing on the side, crackling sound is also heard. Ultimately it just seems to be poor quality for the price. We returned this item.

I was very excited about this, but when it got here I found that one of the legs would not screw into place properly. The nut which the leg screws into came out completely and would not go back in. Sending it for a refund and will not be ordering a replacement.

Finished off our guest room perfectly! Had to reorder because the flimsy bottom inside was broken on the first one. The bottom feels like pressed cardboard. A little low for my old knees to sit on. Holds 2 pillows and a couple of blankets. Just enough for guests. If it was taller I would have ordered another one for my bedroom!

This is a HORRIBLE piece of furniture. I've had it for one year, and it's completely fallen apart. The hinges are not smooth, and no longer even WORK. It won't open or close. It pills like crazy. I de-pill it once a week. I called Target to help and the man was horribly rude and told me that there was nothing he could do about it. He suggested I take it out to the curb for trash day and buy a new one. Not worth $200. Will never buy furniture from Target again based on poor customer service and unwillingness to make it right.
