Q: The dimensions say: Overall): 7.4 inches (H) x 9.8 inches (W) x 9.8 inches (D). Shouldn't this be in feet? It would be helpful to know the cover dimensions as well.

A: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Actually, the dimensions should be in feet, not inches. This listing discrepancy will be forwarded to the appropriate team to be corrected. The cover dimensions are 7.7 feet x 16.4 feet. Since the cover is adjustable, the sides will hang down depending on your placement choices.

Q: Can the cover be removed completely to allow for high winds? Does it work as a rain protector for use during light to medium rain showers?

A: Sorry, it's not recommended for use in extreme weather conditions such as storms or heavy winds/rain. And the cover can not be removed completely.

This pergola is cheaply made. The steel frame is lightweight, and shows knicks and dents easily. The bare minimum instructions made it difficult to assemble. We had to disassemble it twice in order to get all the holes to line up correctly for attachments b/c it was not specificed in instructions which direction the pieces should face. (If you pay close attention to the pieces during assembly & use problem-solving skills, you should be able to assemble it correctly on the first try). The canopy is not retractable. It only hangs over the top of the pergola and has 2 height options for "shade control"; hanging like shown in the product image, or clipped up to the top crossbeam. The extra material has no where to fold up if its clipped to the top of the pergola, the extra fabric just hangs loose over the edge and looks really sloppy. The top of the pergola is always covered unless you completely remove the canopy. Also, the material is definitely BEIGE/tan, not white. Unhappy with this product. It doesn't function like I thought it would, materials are poor quality, and assembly was a pain. Save up your money and invest in a higher quality pergola!

This great pergola is attractive and very durable: it is still in wonderful condition after being outdoors for 4 years. gives minimal shade though, can still feel the sun through the fabric.
