Avoiding sharp edges when removing the lid from an open can is tricky. By cutting below the edge on the side of the can, the OXO Smooth Edge Can Opener leaves no dangerous metal behind. The side-wind knob is easy to turn and has a comfortable nonslip grip. The hardened stainless steel cutting wheel doesn’t come into contact with can contents, while built-in pliers allow for touch-free lid removal. Hand wash recommended.

Easy and safe can opener

This is a great can opener! Easy to apply to the can turn the knob. I will recommend that when you try to remove the can lid.... USE YOUR FINGERS TO LIFT OFF THE LID... RATHER THAN THE CLAW ON THE SIDE. There're no sharp edges remember. But hey, you give it a go!

Replaced our Pampered Chef Can Opener

Our Pampered Chef can opener broke and we were looking to replace it with a similar can opener (the kind that opens/let’s you lift the lid off the can, not cuts into the lid). OXO is getting cheap. Only the main handle has their good reliable grip. The part you use to turn is cheap slippery hollow plastic. Will be returning with disappointment.
