OXO Steel Corkscrew

This wine bottle opener only lasted a few months and randomly broke off into the cork that I was trying to take out of the bottle. It was a pain to get out of the cork.

When fully extended the corkscrew can only penetrate half of cork. The other half of the cork remains stuck in the bottleneck.

This was a warranty replacement, and the 2nd time the steel? pin holding the corkscrew itself to the frame sheared off in normal use. Clearly a defect in design or manufacturing. We have a lot of other OXO products that have generally been great. This corkscrew isn’t.

This is my second one, the first one broke after opening 100s of bottles and you stood by your product and replaced it free of charge! Now that’s how a company should operate. I have purchased many an Oxo products and have always been pleased. I’m in for life and thank you again for doing what you do and so well.

Much better than its predecessor, which broke and blooded my thumb. Hopefully this one does not have cheap pot metal in. It works rather well.

Seems to be very strong when we are trying to remove corks

I really like this cork screw; good weight, easy to use. However, the screw on my OXO wine opener (cork screw) detached from the pull mechanism as I was uncorking wine. This left the screw in the cork; I had to use pliers to pull out / unscrew it. I very rarely use this wine opener. This could be a hazard as it is completely unexpected that a cork screw would detach when using a wine opener. If the screw did not detach, I would give it 5 stars.

Love this corkscrew....easy for anyone to use with the double winged handle.

Prior to having the winged option I used a twist corkscrew which often left me with corky wine and a struggle to pull out the cork. I no longer have that issue. I generally don't have the strongest hands so this makes things so much easier, and the smooth finish looks classy next to my other tools. Highly recommend and am a fan!

It is heavy and will work for multiple users. I like how easily is uncorked a wine bottle. Its simple and does not require a lot of strength to be used. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality and function of this corkscrew. It should last for many years.
