The OXO SoftWorks Vacuum Wine Preserver protects wine better than traditional corks or caps. The hand pump extracts air from inside the bottle, slowing down the oxidation process that can flatten a wine's taste. The pump's contoured neck prevents pinching and the soft, comfortable grips are non-slip. With just a few easy pumps, the Stopper forms a vacuum seal that preserves flavors and aromas. Ready for another glass? Simply press the tab on the Stopper to release the vacuum seal. Includes two Stoppers.

Q: I was gifted one of these and the seal never seams to last. Is it possible to overpump or more likely that I have defective stoppers?

A: It is recommended that you push the stopper in until securely in place, and pump until you feel resistance, pulling up for several pumps. If you bump the seal, it will loosen and fill with air, so be careful pulling off the vacuum pump and and when storing.

Q: Is there a trick to this? I have tried multiple times pumping dozens of times and nothing seals. There is no resistance whatsoever.

A: You have to push the stopper in hard. PUsh down while pumping.

A: Hi Hawks48, I'm Arielle with OXO. Here are the instructions for using the Vacuum Wine Preserver with two stoppers. Place stopper in bottle and attach pump to stopper. Pump handle until you feel resistance. Remove pump, leaving the stopper on the bottle. To remove the stopper, push tab to release. I have had good luck with Oxo products, so I bought this without hesitation. When I first used it, a seal was made. However, within a couple of hours the seal between the stopper and bottle had failed. This happened on both of the Vacuum Wine Preservers that I bought. I returned them as defective. Very disappointed.

Am I crazy or inept? I have tried this on a couple bottles and it will not vacuum seal no matter how hard I press down. The cork fits snugly, but when I pump, nothing happens. I have tried pumping 15+ times, pressing firmly the whole time and the cork will then pop out with almost no suction. Maybe I have a defective one

This works extremely well even after several years of use. It extends bottle life for three to four days. I wish they made refill stoppers; I’m down to one (lost the other). I’ll absolutely repurchase if something happens to my current one.

It works; the instructions were easy to follow. I did try to keep a bottle for more than a week to test out. Overtime the plug popped out on its on - again I waited more than a couple of weeks before I attempted to drink the wine again. So for a day or three this works lovely any longer and its a toss up. Overall [5] stars b/c it reseals my bottles of wine and that was my main reason for purchasing.
