The camera is just disgusting.

Been using the camera for over half a year. And have shot more than a hundred projects. Before that I used the gh5 for many years. The camera is just disgusting. Everything that bloggers write and talk about on YouTube does not correspond to the realities of shooting in real life. So No mp4 h265 8bit 4.2.0. That is, there is MOV, but if the battery dies, the file turns out to be broken. The camera has a function to restore broken files. Why can not be done immediately to not be broken as it was in gh5, it is not clear. Pomom, In manual mode when you change the position of the cube, used to pull up the autofocus, now the cube shifts and you need to press the focus button every time. Which is just not convenient and to such an extent that it is tinny. Every time you change the position of the AF point, you have to press set. It's just a pain. It is impossible to use the autofocus fully. Automatic backlighting of the screen, it's just a mockery. Not from the light outside, but from the exposure of the frame. Are you serious? The battery doesn't last as long as the gh5 did. Not all buttons can be assigned properly. You can't turn on or off face detection with autofocus while shooting.

Longtime LUMIX user with two GH5, Sigma ART lenses & Speedbooster Ultra. Needed to capture C4K @ 60/120fps for a project so I got my GH7 on sale in November. So many improvements in performance and functionality. For most of my filming, I’m on AC and use manual focus so battery life & autofocus are not critical factors. Are there any negatives? I had to buy new batteries, charger and AC supply (requires 9v output, not 8.4 like the GH5), haven’t figured out how to change the function of the shutter button (51 in the manual) to focus with a half press (not record video)?

I got this camera, the day it was released. I was needing an upgrade from the GH5 mainly because of the New autofocus system. It has not disappoint, the cooling fan is also important as I shoot long events. I love the option to do Pro-Res Raw, even though I don't need it. The Addition of a CF express slot is also vital as I can now shoot in some of the Higher bitrates. I currently have it pared with the Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 9mm f/1.7 and will be fully testing it this weekend at an event. The only issue that I have with this camera is, when using the Dummy battery and VMOUNT battery, if the camera goes to sleep, it does not turn back on, you have to unplug the USBC from the VMOUNT Battery and and the camera and plug it back in, Its a major pain, hope there's a fix soon, as I have tried 2 different VMOUNT Batteries and the same issue.
