Q: Shopping for a camera to use at air shows. Been advised to get a canon mirrorless R50. Does it have a fast shutter speed?
A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Canon EOS R50 RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3mm IS STM Kit: Mirrorless Wi-Fi Digital Camera Yes, the Canon EOS R50 has a very fast shutter speed. It has two different shutter mechanisms, each with a different maximum speed: Electronic Shutter: This has a maximum shutter speed of 1/8,000 second. Its best used for highest speed for freezing the fastest motion. Electronic 1st-Curtain (Mechanical): This has a maximum shutter speed of 1/4,000 second. This has good speed and is less prone to distortion than the electronic shutter. The Canon R50 is an excellent choice for air shows, but you may also want to invest in a telephoto lens (something with a long reach, like 200mm or more) to truly fill the frame with the aircraft. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: Can I turn the flash on manually? Or does it automatically detect if flash is needed?
A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Canon EOS R50 RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3mm IS STM Kit: Mirrorless Wi-Fi Digital Camera If your camera is set to a "Basic Zone" mode like A+ (Scene Intelligent Auto), the camera decides whether to fire the flash based on lighting conditions.7 If you want manual control, you must switch to one of the Creative Zone modes. To manually enable the built-in flash on your Canon EOS R50, you need to take two steps. First you will want to manually raise the flash unit. Unlike some older cameras that have a flash button to physically pop up the flash, the R50's built-in flash must be manually raised. Gently pull up on the front of the built-in flash unit until it clicks and locks into its raised position. Next, if your camera's mode dial is set to a "Creative Zone" mode (P, Tv, Av, or M), you need to tell the camera to always fire the flash, not just when it thinks it's dark. To perform this task, Press the MENU button, navigate to the shooting menu (the red camera icon). Next go to the Flash Control setting and select Flash Firing. Change the setting from [Flash off] (or [Automatic firing]) to [Fire] (often represented by a small lightning bolt icon). In Creative Zone modes (P, Tv, Av, M), the flash will fire every time you take a picture as long as the flash unit is physically raised. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Q: How would I know is a mirrorless camera? It doesn’t say outside the box
A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Canon EOS R50 RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3mm IS STM Kit: Mirrorless Wi-Fi Digital Camera A mirrorless camera can be identified by its lack of a mirror box and pentaprism, resulting in a smaller and lighter body compared to a DSLR. Instead of an optical viewfinder, it uses an electronic viewfinder (EVF) or the rear LCD screen to display a live preview of the image, showing you exactly what the sensor sees. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.
