Q: Does this jar have an airtight lid? Another answer says it does but I just received my jar in the mail and it does not have a gasket around the lid—is this a defect, or was the other answer mistaken?

Q: I can see the seam of the lid but how does it open? Is it on a hinge and lift it or do you lift it off?

A: The roof of the house is the lid and it can be removed at the point that you are feeling the seam. The jar is airtight with a gasket fitting so the lid will have a certain amount of resistance. Thank you
