Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs are highly appreciated by guests for their taste, quality, and ethical farming practices. The eggs are said to have bright, yellow yolks, firm whites, and a fresh taste, reminding some guests of farm-fresh eggs. The fact that the eggs are organic and come from free-range, ethically treated chickens is a significant plus for many. However, some guests found them a bit pricey and the packaging excessive.

How can most of the eggs have two yolks if/when advertised as organic.? Bought last week 1 dz Am a regular. One dz every week.

We’re very sorry for any concern that these double yolks may have caused, and we’d like to take a moment to explain what you may have noticed. Double yolk eggs are fairly rare (about 1/1000) and tend to be very, very large - in fact, they’re typically graded as “super jumbos” due to their size. These eggs primarily come from younger flocks that are just learning how to lay eggs. All the farm fresh eggs go through the sorting machine together and, once they are identified as super jumbos, are sent to the first packing station where they are hand packed because they are too big for the machine to pack. They are then packaged as jumbos, even though they are technically super jumbos. All day the hand packing station runs, filling jumbo cartons with super jumbos. These super jumbos are over 50% double yolks. As these cartons are filled, they all go into the same case. So, even though they are rare, double yolk eggs often wind up in the same cartons. We hope this helps explain why you encountered multiple double yolks!

We're so sorry to hear about your disappointment. We take great care in inspecting every egg and carton before they leave us, so this isn’t something we take lightly. We'd like to hear your feedback and welcome you to submit to our consumer contact form!
PLASTIC CONTAINER!!! KINDER TO EARTH?

The organic range free eggs are delicious ;however, they are in PLASTIC! I am an environmentalist and most environmentalists and health enthusiasts limit plastic purchases because it's the making of the plastic and the recycling of the plastic that puts fumes into our ozone layer which is unhealthy for the planet and therefore for us. Your range free eggs are in cardboard. To make matters worse you mentioned kinder to our planet. Well if it was kinder to our planet it wouldn't be in a very unnecessary plastic container!!! Could you please use cardboard or better yet recycled cardboard? I promise you especially with organic, if you put that it's in recycled cardboard you will sell way more eggs. Better for your company and better for the Earth and the people and animals that reside here. Thank you kindly for your immediate consideration to this very serious matter

We chose our original 100% recycled plastic cartons based on third-party research showing they were more sustainable than most options—diverting tons of plastic from landfills along the way. But we hear you: many are looking to cut plastic entirely. That’s why we introduced our new hybrid paper cartons—for those wanting another option. We’re always testing new materials and appreciate your feedback as we work toward the most sustainable packaging possible.

I find Pete and Gerry's to be of superior quality. The eggs I buy are pretty fresh and they are delicious! I always buy the x-large organic eggs. When they are not available I buy Nellie's eggs next.

I happened to come across a container of P & G's eggs in my refrigerator that I had bought months ago & I tried them to see if they were still good. To my surprise, almost all of them were as fresh tasting as when I had originally bought them.

Nothing aggravates me more than extra plastic. Extra non recyclable plastic surrounding organic eggs??? (It won’t let me upload photo) I was temporarily disabled and had someone else do my shopping. Oops

Thank you for your feedback - Our 100% recycled plastic (rPET) cartons have been found to be more eco-friendly than many other options, including paper and cardboard. Plus, over a third of our cartons are recycled again, which is higher than the national recycling average. Instead of creating new waste, our cartons are made from recycled plastic, like water and soda bottles. By reusing materials that might otherwise end up in landfills or the ocean, we’re giving them a second life and making a positive impact on the planet.

These eggs are the best! They taste and look so much better than regular “cage free” eggs. I’m excited to introduce these eggs to my baby as one of her first foods because they are full of nutrients. Plus, I love that the hens are so well taken care of and are free to roam.

I got a box of organic eggs...The egg yolks were very pale yellow in color... compared to before.... This is disappointing ...I remember them having a rich orange color... What happened? Probably change in their diet...
1 reply from Pete & Gerry's Family Farm Team team - 7 months ago
Thank you for reaching out! While free-range and pasture-raised farming offers many benefits, it also introduces natural variability in yolk color due to differences in each hen’s diet and grazing habits. Additionally, factors like flock age can contribute to these variations. Rest assured, regardless of yolk color, our eggs still provide the same high-quality nutrition and essential vitamins you expect.
Worth it!

Dear Pete and Gerry’s, I haven’t eaten a scrambled egg in several years due to several reasons. I purchased your brand as stated on packaging “ non gmo feed” and web site stated hens are range free and eat from organic pastures. My lightly scrambled egg was quite good. Thank you for producing.
