We're not allowed to put up fences. I usually put my little dog on a tie out because of that. This fence system is fantastic my dog can't use it because he's insane. He doesn't understand. However, my best friend's little dog uses it perfectly. She did not require much training to grasp the idea. No account of training would help my stubborn dog. So my review is that the product is fantastic if your dog can be trained.

I love the customizable layout and the adjustable collar, perfect for my backyard and my tiny baby. Some drawbacks about this fence are the wire burying is tedious and the battery powered collar doesn't last long with daily use. But overall, I can now relax on the porch while Boy plays safely in the yard without constant supervision.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently installed the PetSafe Basic In-Ground Fence System for my dog, and overall I’m really happy with the results. The kit came with everything I needed to get started, and the instructions were pretty straightforward for a weekend DIY project. My dog picked up on the boundaries within about 10 days, and it’s been amazing to let him run around safely without a leash. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the initial 500 ft of wire only covers a small area (about 1/3 acre), so I had to purchase extra wire separately for full coverage. Also, burying the wire can be time-consuming depending on your yard. Still, for the price and peace of mind, it’s totally worth it. Would definitely recommend to pet parents with a yard!

The range has a nice wide area for my dogs to run. Came with one collar but purchased a second for my other dog. Now I don’t have to worry about the little one getting out of the fence anymore. We love that it can be expanded to give him more space if we need to. It didn't take him long to learn the boundaries. I like that the shock can be adjusted too. We were nervous about the electric fence because we didn't want to hurt him. However, our dog seems more happy now with space and freedom than he did before.

It’s great to finally let my dog off leash in the area and not worry about them running away. There is a wire transmitter that is installed indoors to give it power and signal for buried wire. The buried wire runs from the transmitter to your boundary that you create. It came with a waterproof color which uses batteries. There are 4 different corrections levels plus tone for training. There are temporary training flags to help the dog and you visualize the blundering during the training period since it takes time to get used to. The package came with 50ft of wire and dozens of training flags, if you wanted to expand you would need to purchase additional wire. But what I have is perfect for my current backyard.

You can add additional wire to expand coverage and also have more than one collar at at time if you have multiple pets. Safe and effective on cats and dogs. It took some work to install but nothing too difficult. The collar is waterproof and the battery lasts about 2 months.

The setup was quick and easy—especially with a little help from my husband. The only concern I have is with the receiver collar. My dogs are pretty clever, and the collar fits a bit loosely, so I’m worried I may need to replace it soon. I also plan to purchase a second collar for my other lab, who’s more active. That said, once we had everything installed and let one of our labs into the yard, he quickly learned to stay away from the garden. I bought this product and took time to decide to install at home, recently open the box and found missing the power adapter for the controller.

The fence works great as long as the receiver collar stays on your dog. Had a problem with the receiver collar coming loose and falling off. The last time it fell off I didn’t realize it until it was too late. I now have to buy a replacement color for my him, because it came loose and fell off of him, and he proceeded to chew it up!
