Faulty wiring in surge protector
This Philips 10 outlet surge started making a high pitched whine less than a year after purchase. Only used to plug in a WiFi router so not even under high load. Philips makes it difficult to contact to honor warranty so buyer beware.

Extremely Loud
I bought the 8 outlet braided version 2 years ago and it stills works well. This produces a large amount of coil whine as soon as you turn it on, even without any devices plugged in.

Clamp voltage is unacceptably high
This new "updated" model of Phillips surge protector has very high clamp voltage of 800v. The previous model had 500v. At 800v it really doesn't do much to protect the electronics connected to it because your PC or other stuff can get damaged by much smaller surges of less than 800v. Don't buy this "protector" since it doesn't provide much protection

Not up to the quality
This new version is not good at all. Wow cheaply made and I own their older version w grossly too finish and no issues to plug in any multiple device. With this new version I couldn’t even connect more than 1 device. I couldn’t just keep pushing in and pushing to fit. This should be checked w quality control. Bring back older better version.

The BEST

My closest outlet to my bed is behind my king size bed, so getting to it was a huge hassle. This is also neat because there are so many outlets AND there are even a couple usb plugs. It’s the best surge protector I ever ever had.

It has 10 outlet that face different directions, which is really nice for when plug-ins/charging boxes are shaped differently. It also has some USB ports which is awesome. The 6 foot cord is flexible and able to reach a good distance. My favorite feature is the braided cord, which makes the cord more resistant to external damage (I have a cat that always tries to chew cords, so this is good for us).

Usb so you don’t need to use a charging block for everything on here but when you do it’s got extra room for the big blocks. The cord has a flat plug which is so helpful behind furniture. The cord also is covered in a braided material. It looks nice and feels really well made. There is an on off switch for the unit as well on the side. Mounting holes on the back.
