Philips Compact Pasta and Noodle Maker

Took forever to start to extrude then stopped after about one minute. Machine wouldn't extrude any pasta and just spin

Lasted just a year before mixing lid broke and sensors rendered machine useless. Not spending duty and shipping to bring in replacement from US.

Upon using the Viva pasta maker for the first time, I was disappointed that so much leftover dough remained in the chamber, squeeze tube and on the disc and squeeze bar, even after the extra extrusion. I hope someone will contact me to help resolve the issue.

Surprised you do not promote this more... don't even sell it yourself!?!? This is easy to use, works great, makes great pasta.. use at once a week... or more... I no longer buy pasta from the grocery store.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this pasta maker on a weekly basis. The machine is easy to use once you get the amount of flour to egg (or water) ratio right. One cup = 1 + 1/2 cups of flour. The directions say one cup, but it’s not enough flour. I tried 2 cups and the weight is wrong and the machine calls for more flour and won’t start spinning. Getting the machine to spin too a bit of patience. If the flour weight isn’t right, you have to recalibrate the machine by taking the flour out. So I dump 3 cups of flour in first (for two servings). Force spinning it does not alway work for me, so it’s a delicate process. Overall, I like the machine. I wish there was an option to turn the auto weigh function off.

Never thought that pasta making could be that easy. I love my new machine. Made spaghetti today and then fusili. All with all-purpose flour. 00 flour only arriving in 2 days and I couldn’t wait.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine makes pasta in a breeze. I set it up and prepare the pasta while I wait for the water to boil, this is how easy and fast it is! It is the perfect size for a family of 3-4, otherwise you have to make two batches. It is easy to clean and most parts are dishwasher safe. I wish there were more shapes of pasta or even the cookie shapes like the bigger model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pasta maker is very easy to use...straight out of the box (after washing of course). There is virtually no assembly, the instructions are very easy to follow, the construction is solid and it's convenient to add pasta dies in addition to those that come with the machine. Things I like: machine is solidly built, components come apart easily, there is a great storage drawer in the machine for extra dies (except I could use it to hold more), capacity is accurate per the machine specs. The only reason I didn't give this 5 out of 5 stars is cleaning the dies can be time consuming (which would be the case with any machine I'm sure). The value for the cost is definitely a win! Additionally, customer support was FANTASTIC! I broke a part the second time I used the machine (my fault completely) and they replaced it no questions asked. I got the new part in 3-5 days as they promised and I was back in the pasta making business! I would highly recommend this machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So easy to use! Doesn’t take much space. The directions are easy to follow and the recipe book has recipes for each noodle shaper. The worst part is cleaning the dough out of the shaping disc, and that isn’t difficult either.

Can also be used to make larger batches but you have to clean out the unit when you start a new batch. The dough dries up in the chamber. After a couple of tries, I have perfected the egg pasta. So easy to do. Having fun trying out new recipes. After eating the fresh pasta from this maker, it’s very hard to go back to packaged pasta. Washes up beautifully in the dishwasher!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Patience people, join a Facebook group, learn a little of the science of how liquid and flour works. This machine will do the rest. My husband says he never wants dry pasta ever again. Dream on, right, but it really is easy to make.
