read the book before watching the series
This book has a great plot, but is slightly unorganized. There are details left out of the book that should have been disclosed early on, that aren’t shock factor, that would have just made this story more rounded had it been mentioned earlier. This book could have easily been another 200 pages in my opinion to include more of an explanation/backstory. The story flips between present day and the 80’s to give two perspectives, Andy (the daughter) and Laura (her mother). Overall it was a good book, put I think some aspects could have used more of an explanation.

Could not put it down
I read this book in less than two days and Karin Slaughter left me craving more! She is an amazing writer and had you sitting on the edge of your seat wondering who Laura really is, why didn't she tell Andy anything about her past, her father, and her family legacy.
