Book Synopsis
Descended from a long line of patient, persistent savers, this piggy bank breaks the mold, flying in fast with a goal to gather cash. He's a supersonic saving machine!
When his friends give him his first savings goal, Piggy hits the scene, rallying coins and cash in all the classic spots--from couch cushion to laundry pockets. Go pig or go home! But in his rush to save, Piggy leaves behind his stopper, and forgets to read The Official Bank Handbook, trailing the coins he's collected and failing to meet his savings goals. With his high-speed ways leaving him empty inside, Piggy must come to his cent-ces--reading the handbook, playing it cool, slowly saving, and paying with patience--if he ever wants to hit his goals and live up to the Bank name. Readers of all ages will go hog-wild for this playful, punny introduction to patient, persistent saving as they follow Piggy's journey from hurried hog to supersaver.About the Author
Kimberly Wilson is an early financial literacy advocate, who feels many of the important things in life are priceless. She knew she wanted to introduce Goldie to the funny, punny, money crew of A Penny's Worth and A Dollar's Grand Dream (Page Street Kids) after noticing how often kids see adults pay with the swipe of a card. She works as a writer full-time and is an active member of SCBWI, 12x12, and several critique groups. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, two daughters, and puppy.
Mark Hoffmann tries to avoid debt and doughnuts when he uses his card. His parents deserve the credit for teaching him about not spending too much. In addition to illustrating children's books such as A Penny's Worth and A Dollar's Grand Dream (Page Street Kids), Mark also works as a college professor. He lives in Salem, New Hampshire.Dimensions (Overall): 10.24 Inches (H) x 8.46 Inches (W) x 1.0 Inches (D)
