About the Author
Kimberly Wilson is the author of A Penny's Worth, A Dollar's Grand Dream, and A Credit Card Takes Charge. She drew inspiration for her latest book, Piggy Bank Saves the Day, from her childhood experiences saving for a pet lizard, a doll, and even a piccolo! She learned quickly that it takes patience, but saving always pays off. Kimberly and her family currently live in Charlotte, NC, one of the largest banking cities in the nation.
Mark Hoffmann thinks piggy banks are cool, but he'd prefer to have a real piggy instead, even though they don't hold money and are much stinkier. A super fun story about a little penny searching for her sense of self-worth in the big world, where she is perceived as “worthless.” Tons of puns and wordplay, and great illustrations by Mark Hoffmann come together in a fast-paced, energetic romp around town through the eyes of a little penny. Plus, fabulous money math back matter and fun facts about pennies! This one is well WORTH a read!

Who knew a penny could be so adorable and admirable. A Penny's Worthy follows penny as she discovers just how times have changed and what a penny can - and can't - do these days. (Alas, not even enough for penny candy.) But no matter what's stamped on the outside, it only takes time before someone realizes her true value. This fun tale of perseverance and pluck is, in a word, priceless. Also provides an engaging introduction to U.S. currency for little kids.
