#1 New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey is back with an all-new enemies-to-lovers, fake-dating sports romance about a playboy hockey rookie and the disciplined softball pitcher completely immune to his charms.

Boston Bearcats rookie Robbie Corrigan is living the dream. He’s made it to the NHL, his best friend is his roomie—and the women of Boston love them both. Life is sweet. That is, until he meets Skylar Paige, division 1 softball pitcher, girl least likely to take anyone’s bull…and the one member of the opposite sex immune to his charms. Robbie might be dazzled by the badass pitcher, but Skylar pegs him as a filthy player and wants nothing to do with him. When he discovers she’s carrying a serious torch for her brother’s best friend, Robbie knows he should just go back to clubbing and whipped cream bikini parties, but he can’t seem to leave Skylar to flounder on her romantic quest to land another man. Nor can he miss out on the opportunity to spend time with her and hopefully redeem himself. Before Robbie knows it, he’s agreed to be Skylar’s fake boyfriend/love coach at an upcoming family wilderness competition where her crush will be in attendance. What could go wrong? Through a series of contests that require them to trust each other, Robbie and Skylar grow closer and closer until their fake relationship starts to feel like the realest thing they’ve ever known and the sizzling lessons in sensuality burn out of control. But it’s all just pretend…right?

NHL player Robbie Corrigan (aka O Donor Number 1 if you've read the earlier books in the series) meets Skylar Paige, division 1 softball pitcher and is . She is less than impressed with Robbie based on his seemingly huge ego and the shenanigans he gets up to in his personal life. None of Robbie's usual charm works on Skylar and he can't seem to find any joy in his previous player ways after meeting her. Skylar is also pining for her brother's best friend and worried about the annual competition her family holds every year. Robbie sees an opportunity to get close to Skylar by offering to be her partner in the competition and her fake boyfriend to make her crush jealous. But the more Robbie gets to know her, the more down bad he is, and the more confused she becomes. I have really enjoyed this series and there is a lot to love in this book - though Fangirl Down is still my favorite in the series so far. I definitely enjoyed this book more than the last in the series, Dreamgirl Drama (loved the characters, the story and situation, meh). The best thing in my opinion is that Robbie goes from a bit of a d-bag player to a complete cinnamon roll for Skylar. He starts authentically giving her everything that's been missing in her life - most importantly in my opinion his unwavering belief that she is 100% a badass amazing person and athlete who deserves to be celebrated. And a lot of people do celebrate her athletic ability which is amazing, because women athletes are just as worthy as men of the glory sports can bring. Robbie helps give Skylar the confidence to confront her family about how they make her feel second best to her older brother. He's silly and ridiculous and a puppy dog in love in the best way. He is down bad personified. Also he wants to buy her office supplies for her planner - SWOON. I am a huge hockey fan and it's pretty easy for me to accept when books take liberties with the sport to fit the story. This was not one of them unfortunately. The competition could have been easily set in summer when hockey is on a break and since it's so prevalent in the other books, why not make Skylar's sport the highlight? Also Robbie or any NHL player would likely be under contract to not do some of the crazy stuff they did in the competition nor would he want to take a chance to get hurt before playoffs. The side story with brother's best friend Madden and Skylar's best friend Eve was a bit much. It felt like Bailey is trying to set them up for their own book which, don't get me wrong, I would totally read, but it felt like it took up too much time in Robbie and Skylar's story and confused it too much. I will give Tessa Bailey so much props for almost always giving us an epilogue with a glimpse into the future that wraps things up in such a happy bow. That's exactly what I want in the ending of a romance book! *I received an ARC from NetGalley.
