The other dye kits only work on real eggs, the dye provided will work on these plastic eggs. Or you can’t paint or use marker. I plan to dye and also use puffy paints and the Spritz galaxy decor kit on the 2 sets of these I bought! Hope this helps!

Dye real eggs in this economy?! Pass. This was perfect for my 3 year old. The bad reviews must have not read the directions because you have to use the little bags and dye provided (NOT your regular dye mixed in water and vinegar in cups). You crinkle them around in the little bags until they are the color you want. I only knocked a star bc they only come with 4 colors. Luckily I bought 2 sets and we had some fun attempts at making orange and purple.

Does not work with traditional dye. We colored paper towels to wrap the eggs, and sprayed with a vinegar/water mix to stain the eggs, which worked well. Disappointed we couldn’t do the traditional way though.

I've always bought these eggs to decorate using the Eggmazing marker decorating spinner and the eggs fit perfectly. It is sized for the average large size egg. Well last year they made these eggs slightly smaller so they no longer fit the spinner making it impossible to use the eggmazing spinner tool. I will no longer buy this brand of plastic egss because they do not dye well using regular dye and they do not fit the Eggmazing, basically you can hold them and use marker or paint. Very disapointing, they don't even mention the new size on the packaging, it's more like a medium size egg.

These are great for painting, coloring, decorating with stickers but not for dyeing. It’s not the traditional method of dipping eggs. These come with plastic bags and dye to color the eggs.

I bought these to use with the paper bird and dinosaur decorating kits. They were obviously cheaper than real eggs and reusable. Sturdy and well worth it.
The person who designed this and rated it ages 3+ obviously doesn't have kids. Don't buy unless you want your kids to have tie dyed hands for weeks! Terrible idea!

Didn’t soak up the dye AT all. We let them soak for 5 min and nada. Kids enjoyed coloring them with markers and playing with them though.
