The lunch bag is FLAT! Definitely can’t put a lunch in there. I let my kid convince me to get this because it had a lunch bag included for the price and now I’m stuck with an expensive backpack and a flat pouch… the backpack does seem to be decent quality. It has several interior pockets but the straps are very thin with no cushion and then you have these buckles on the front just hanging out if you don’t use the attached “lunch kit”. I would still prefer this over the cheap plastic character bags you see everywhere.

Bookbag appears to be great quality, however the “lunch kit” is more like a pencil pouch. It is completely flat.
