Q: Can this mat be cut down to a different size using a sharp pair of utility scissors?

A: Hello, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we would not recommend cutting your Floortex Ultimat. Floortex mats are cut to precision using specialist equipment; cutting may damage your mat (i.e. cracking) and could impair performance. Altering a Floortex product will void warranty and Floortex will not accept any responsibility for any damage or injury caused while cutting mats. I'll keep it anyway...
I ordered this item because of its size (48"x60"), and I'm satisfied with similar products from this company. This mat did not arrive flat (like the previous ones), but will probably stay that way with an antique rolltop desk sitting on it. Unfortunately, the mat isn't 48x60, but 48x48 with a 12" lip, so it doesn't fit the space it specfically was ordered for. I doubt there's time to get a replacement (if the "right" one exists) before the desk arrives. so I guess I'll keep it anyway...

This mat is manufactured from extremely durable polycarbonate which has double the impact strength of PVC, our Ultimat is shipped rolled and will lie flat instantly after unpacking for immediate use. AVOID..AVOID..POOR QUALITY PRODUCT
This chair mat started cracking after a few months of use. Avoid at all cost. My previous one lasted 15+ years and this one didnot last even a year.

Polycarbonate is a very strong and rigid material which can withhold weight of up to 250 lbs, this mat should not crack under the correct application. Works fine with the carpet!
It grips well with the carper and sturdy plastic for the cost. I purchased it for my work-from-home office purposes. I used this mat for abou a few weeks and I like that mat so far. I will re-post if is there anything that needs to be addressed.
