Q: Can it be assembled without the middle shelf to fit a 30" tall item?

A: The top shelf is adjustable allowing for extra height on the top or for extra clearance for the fixed shelf below.

Q: Can you flip the door so it can open on the right side of the cabinet? I have one already and it opens on the left side, so I want two cabinets side by side with the handles being on the inside.

A: This was designed with the door to open a certain direction and has pre-drilled holes for assembly.

A: Yes the wood parts can be painted, you would just need to sand them down since the item does come with a 30% gloss finish on the wood.

Q: If you remove the top shelf, how many inches in height would you have for displaying an item on the middle shelf (with middle shelf on the lowest level it can be)?

I have recently assembled several pieces of furniture and this, by far, was the most difficult - primarily because the directions were not clear. Once assembled, I noticed that the inside of cabinet has an odd smell that I can't seem to get rid of. I like the cabinet itself but am disappointed by these two points.

This is a nice cabnet although it arrived very banged up. Scratched glass, chunks missing out of the side. I was disappointed with the condition it arrived in.

Difficult to put together, and couldn't get door to be square returned to Target store for different cabinet, which was worlds better
