Q: The light bulb came out of the socket, what can I do?

A: No no no. This happened to me too. All you have to do is pull off the black foam on the bottom and you’ll see a screw nut. You can unscrew that and open up the bottom. You’ll see two more, smaller nuts inside. Just unscrew those and you can absolutely access the bulb!!! I fixed mine that way. It only screws up the bottom foam piece, since that will likely tear.

The bulb came loose in mine and I thought I’d have to chuck it since everything says you can’t open it. NOT TRUE. All you have to do is pull off the black foam on the bottom and you’ll see a screw nut. You can unscrew that and open up the bottom. You’ll see two more, smaller nuts inside. Just unscrew those and you can absolutely access the bulb!!! I fixed mine that way. It only screws up the bottom foam piece, since that will likely tear. That said, shame on Hearth and Hand for marketing this as a single use item and saying it can’t be opened! That is so wasteful! And it would have been so easy to make the bulb easily accessible instead of requiring customers to figure out their own fix when the bulb becomes loose, which appears to be a common problem. I’m only recommending this because I honestly really love how it looks and the light it puts out. But I’d get it on sale.

Item arrived completely shattered, smashed and broken. It was shipped in just a plastic bag, with one layer of paper thrown in a larger box with a small hard metal object. When chosing fix issue, this item was excempt. I am a huge fan of packaging sustainability, but fragile items without proper packaging should not be eligiable for shipping if they are just going to be thrown into a box. or at least place a warning before allowing shipping.

I loved this as a nightlight in my boys room. Unfortunately that meant that it needed to stand up to kids and it sadly did not. The knob came off and the lightbulb is in and out. The lightbulb cannot be replaced.

This lantern from Hearth and Home looks great. I got the cream color. It was perfect in my entryway table. I used it a few times for ambient light. Until I couldn't. I tried charging and it does not charge at all. Incredibly disappointed. It's pricy, not worth it.

This outdoor patio lantern brings a cozy ambiance to our home. The controls are rather simple allowing you to brighten and dim with ease. It feels high quality. The bulb is frosted so the light is gentle and not offensive to the eyes. Unfortunately, there is no charging light so there's no way of knowing how full the battery is. Overall, it's a super pretty light that looks good year-round.

I am obsessed with this lantern! It is sleek, and modern and works so well. I love that the light is dimmable and can be turned to be quite bright or soft depending on the need. It is made well and is built to last. It is easy and fast to charge and comes with its own USB charging cable. It totally came in handy during Hurricane Milton and kept my little house bright and cheery while the storm rolled through. I would love a second in different color!

Such a cute and functional lantern! It comes with a USB recharging cable, so you don't need to purchase anything else. The on/off is actually a dimmer, so if you want it to be brighter or dimmer you can. Will be perfect for out on a porch or even inside as a decorative piece

This lantern is super cute and very well made. The charge lasts a long time and it is dimmable which is a plus! Great for a little extra light where you might not have an outlet or want cords showing. Absolutely recommend this one - it even comes with the charging cord.

I love the look of this lantern as a decor piece. I think it's quite darling and I'm completely smitten with it. I really liked that the on-off dial is also a dimmer switch. It reminds me of the combined volume and power knobs on older radios and taps into some nostalgia for me. The bulb dims and brightens smoothly. The lantern has a good weight to it. It feels well-made and is nicely finished. I don't worry that I'm going to tip it over accidentally. The handle is nicely shaped for comfortable carrying and has an indent in the center where it can be hung on a hook. I liked that the charging cable included is a normal 3' long charging cable and the lantern charges using USB-C. But I had two really big issues with the product. The first is that the light bulb can't be changed. So there's the risk that the lantern becomes unusable if the bulb dies prematurely. The more immediate issue for me is that I find the color put off by the included light bulb unappealing. To my eye, it has an unnatural, almost yellow-greenish tint to it. Also of note is that the tag claims it has a 100 W bulb. But even when fully charged, the battery doesn't seem to put out enough power to achieve the brightness one would expect from such a bulb. To my eye, the light that it's putting out is a bit less than that of my 60-watt equivalent LED bulbs. I could have accepted being unable to change the bulb if it was necessary for the unit to be weatherproof. But on the small disclosure slip packaged with the charging cord, it states that the lantern is only for use in dry indoor locations. The charging port is completely exposed so it is quite plausible to me that this unit would not be able to handle any water exposure. But given its restriction to use in dry indoor spaces, calling it an outdoor patio lantern feels misleading. And if the unit isn't sealed to keep it watertight, then it feels like a huge loss that I can't open it up and change the light bulb.

Got this on clearance with the intention to change the bulb to an Edison one. Tried to open it as the bulb it came with was crooked and realized I couldn’t after reading other reviews. Figured there had to be some way to open it and good news you can! If you have a study pair of pliers. It still works just remove the foam on the bottom and the plate. You can also change the battery this way.

Do NOT buy this lamp. It only worked for a few times then bulb stopped working. We were able to get the bulb out but unable to find a replacement. Hearth & Hand should be replacing these or make a replacement bulb available. This is such an expensive waste.
