Review Quotes

"As a licensed mental health counselor deeply invested in the personal growth and well-being of my clients, especially those navigating the complexities of intersecting LGBTQ+ and religious identities, I am continually on the lookout for resources that resonate with empathy, understanding, and practical guidance. The Positive Thinking Workbook for Women is a commendable tool that stands out in its capacity to empower and inspire. Through its thoughtful exercises and insightful content, this workbook not only champions the philosophy of positive thinking but also facilitates a deeper engagement with one's personal journey towards self-improvement and acceptance.

What sets this workbook apart is Aubree's holistic approach to nurturing resilience and fostering an environment of self-love and possibility. The tailored exercises are particularly beneficial for those I work with, helping them to dismantle long-held negative beliefs and rebuild a framework of positive self-perception and hope. This is especially pertinent for individuals from conservative backgrounds who are striving to reconcile their identity with their cultural and spiritual beliefs.

In recommending this workbook, I am confident in its potential to be a transformative part of the therapeutic process, offering structured support that complements one-on-one counseling or coaching. It encourages reflective practice and personal agency, which are crucial for those on a path to recovery and self-discovery. For any coach/practitioner seeking to enrich their therapeutic toolbox, especially those working within the LGBTQ+ community, the Positive Thinking Workbook for Women is an invaluable addition that echoes the values of compassion, growth, and empowerment." -- Eric M. Hovis, LMHC, NCC, New Insights Mental Health

"Aubree Henderson has created a safe, accessible way for women to examine their relationship with self and to interact and exist more positively within that space. This compassionate workbook serves as a guide to disentangling ourselves from persistent negative thought patterns, offering practical insights and exercises that, with consistency, can help our brains to heal and find new pathways of coping rather than giving power to our limiting beliefs." -- Christy Lee, LPC-MHSP, licensed psychotherapist

"This book takes 'self-care' to the next level, which is something we deeply need. As women, especially women in helping fields or who spend most of our time in our roles as care givers, partners, parents, etc. in service to everyone but ourselves, it can be so hard to have a drop left over for ourselves. And far too often, when we do 'treat ourselves, ' it is in ways that do not fully and deeply heal or nourish us. This book provides such a wonderful, gentle, accessible framework for exploring our connection with our deepest and most authentic self. No judgement here, no unending lists of more and more tasks I have to perfectly accomplish. Instead, this book offers guidance that is as kind as it is wise, as gentle as it is insightful. The activities are moving and transformational, offering opportunities for us to bravely engage with our own patterns and explore new ways of being. This workbook is a gift for anyone who is seeking to intentionally foster more healing and joy into her life." -- Samantha Kaloi, M.Ed. Director of Violence Prevention at the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence

I don’t think this book could have come at a better time in my life! Experiencing quite a bit of negative self-talk and negative body image issues, having the exercises and guidance from this workbook really helped me reflect on where they were coming from and work towards stopping them and turning towards more positive affirmations. There were so many useful and resonant parts to this workbook; and I really appreciated the mix of stories from real people or clients, the author's own experiences, and relevant research. It felt like the perfect balance of emotion, science, and practicality all in one workbook. It’s hard to pick a favorite chapter, but I think Chapter 9 “Look for the Positive in Every Day” stuck out to me the most. One quote in particular really struck me, and I highlighted it and read over it at least 7 times: “If life is an ocean–smooth and serene in some places, stormy in others–gratitude practice is a flotation device that gives you the fortitude to move through it all.” What a metaphor! And a helpful reminder that gratitude is important for all seasons of life. I’m really looking forward to taking these very tangible pieces of advice of practicing gratitude, even if in the smallest of actions, and putting them into practice immediately.
