Just installed today so no thoughts on longevity. This is a very striking fixture and throws a beautiful cast on the wall. I absolutely scour reviews before I make a decision and I'm so glad this turned out so well. This should be used in a hallway or small bedroom. These photos were taken at night so could not really show it off. Looks more expensive than it is.

this is a gorgeous lamp. that is, after 3 painful hours of trying to install it. First, the instructions are completely useless. Might have well been written in Chinese. So much of the lamp is preassembled it is extraordinarily difficult to squeeze your hands up into the top, around the bulb fixtures to tighten two ceiling bolts. Your view is very limited because you are looking through a flat bottom of glass crystals - the end result being a kaleidoscopic effect that scrabbles any attempt to see the ceiling bolt. so there is a lot of poking around, as if being in the dark. And the lamp is very heavy to hold up. It took two people to install this monster. I've hung a number of ceiling fans, lights, etc. This was my WORST and downright painful experience ever!

I used this in our walk-in closet. Love the refracted light and resulting prism rainbows. Sooo much better than the fluorescent one it replaced!! It was a little tricky to install, but all ended well.

The lamp is beautiful, BUT, almost impossible to install. If you use the instructions, you won’t be able to install it because of the way it is built. Instructions tell you to fully assemble the lamp first before installing onto your ceiling, but a fully assembled lamp will not allow you access to the holes in the plate to screw into the ceiling. So, logically, you would think that you need to assemble it only slightly so that you can still have access screw holes, however if you install a partially assembled lamp onto the ceiling, you won’t be able to finish assembling it due to needing access to the very top of the lamp to screw the main assembly on. You can’t access that top part if the lamp is installed on the ceiling already. I was able to install it by making my own tool. You will know what I mean if you begin to assemble and install yourself. If you are pretty handy and know how to get around things OR if you have fingers as thin as a two year old - you should be able to get this installed.

Loved this when I saw it online and the reviews it had! We just had it installed and it is absolutely gorgeous in our front foyer! We've received many compliments on it! Our only suggestion is to install a dimmer switch, too, to control the brightness.
