I prop up on my bed a lot and do computer work, or play games on computer or smart phone. this lamp design makes it real easy to have all the charging cords easily accessible. And something I didn't think about until I put these on each side of my bed - I store my e-reader between one light pillar and the center pillar of the goose neck light, and my cell phone between the other. The only downside to me, and what other's have mentioned, you cannot buy a replacement lamp shade! Regular shades will not work because of the design of this lamp with its two sockets. I have never seen this lamp go on sale, so it must be very popular. I don't abuse my furnishings, but over time lamp shades do need to be replaced. Please, please, please offer replacement shades.
