Overall, this is a decent sandbox with an attractive design and lightweight cedar wood that is both kid-friendly and pleasing to the eye. However, it does have some notable drawbacks that buyers should be aware of. The wood used is lightweight, which makes the sandbox easier to move around, but it also means that it is not as sturdy as it could be. It may not withstand rough use or bad weather without additional reinforcement or care. One of the biggest challenges I encountered was assembly. The instructions provided were vague and illustrated, which made the assembly process very frustrating. I ended up having to take the entire unit apart midway due to unclear instructions. I found that the top would not fit properly unless I punched extra holes to ensure that everything was aligned correctly. This added a lot of unnecessary time and effort. If you are good with tools and have patience, you will be able to assemble it, and once you are done, the sandbox will look great and function well. But for those who want an easy assembly, be prepared for some trial and error. With clearer instructions and better alignment of the pre-drilled holes, this could easily be a five-star product.

Great sandbox for multiple kids!
It was easy to assemble, it's bigger than I thought it would be, and the kids loved it! I did use a stain sealer for added protection and added some weed barrier under the included cap since we have some stubborn moles and crazy weeds in there. The cap fits perfectly. We put a half inflated giant beach ball in the center under the cap to prevent rain water from pooling in the middle and then running straight off. We ended up using 16 (75 lb) bags of sand (not play sand) to fill it up (1200 lbs) and that was really the hardest part. It's deep enough for them to really dig and play without having to dig to the bottom. Once assembled it's lightweight and easy to move if we choose to relocate in the future.

It was very easy to assemble. It was just like screwing a Lincoln log. You will need an electric screwdriver (easier), scissors, and/or a razor blade. I recommend using 120 grit sandpaper and wood filler to hold the screws on top. I used 15 bags of 50 lbs each. I will buy 5 more bags. It will take 800 to 1000 lbs of sand total. It took about an hour to put it all together. The grandkids will come next weekend to see the surprise. The cedar smells great, the wood was broken in by me, and the screws hold it in place nice and cozy. Put a beach ball in the middle. Put the cover on like a sheet, it always falls off when I get to the last side haha. But it worked the third time. I plan on getting another thicker cover for extra protection. We have cats, birds, squirrels, and skunks in our home. And an oak tree that keeps dropping leaves, twigs, and nuts. I also bought a sand broom. I am very happy with everything about it. Be careful with the splinters from the top screws.

Rugged and fun - just needs some weather protection
Overall, this is a great sandbox. It's very durable and holds about three bags of sand. It was a little tricky to assemble, but it was manageable. It's not very waterproof - we played in the rain with the lid on and it still got some water in, so we ended up moving it under the porch. However, it's a sturdy, well-made product that, with a little care, is perfect for outdoor play.

A mediocre sandbox
Was really looking forward to getting this for my kids, but unfortunately the design of the sandbox made it harder to put together than expected because the pieces didn't fit together. Also, it's too small... the four "seats" don't make sense to me, since there's just enough room for two kids. All in all, it holds sand and one kid can play in it. The lid doesn't close very well either.

Perfect in every way.
Your creative toddler will love this octagonal sandbox because it is spacious enough to accommodate many little ones. The design is simple and easy to assemble, and it is very durable. My grandson loves it! Because the sand does not spread on the ground, but is fixed in the designated area.

The price is pretty good!
Not bad for the price. Be sure to nail the black lining on the base to the wood and then the sides. If the ground is uneven, the sand will leak out. Be careful when opening and closing the top the next day, the wood split. It was easily fixed with wood glue and some clamps. Two toddlers can lay comfortably. A 1 year old and a 3 year old can play with it easily. There are at least six bags of play sand

The perfect backyard sandbox!
This wooden sandbox is a real highlight in our backyard. The canopy provides great shade on sunny days and the adjustable lid keeps the sand clean when not in use. The built in sand funnel and drawing board are fun accessories that the kids love! It's durable, well designed and looks great in the garden too. Highly recommended, perfect for outdoor play!

The kids absolutely loved this sandbox. Great value for the money. Can fit two toddlers comfortably but is a little small. We keep it in the garage so we don't have to worry about it raining. The cover screws on so I don't know how well it's waterproof. The sand also falls out of the joints at the bottom of the sandbox which is a bit maddening. My kids love it though.

I highly recommend this sandbox! It's very sturdy and it was so easy to put together! So far it looks very durable and perfect for a small space. The instructions say it needs a few hundred pounds of sand, but you only need a 50 pound bag of sand! This would be a great gift for my three year old grandson and he loves playing in it! My only complaint is that it's a little pricey, but that's also economical haha. Oh and I love that it comes with a shovel and rake, a truck, and two cute characters!

Great concept, but weak structure - needs strengthening
The overall design of this sandbox is great. We love the lid that turns into a bench - clever and convenient. However, the construction is pretty flimsy. After opening and closing the lid a few times on the first day, some short screws fell off the hinges and one of the wooden slats cracked. We will not be returning this product as our kids love it so much. Instead, we will rebuild it ourselves and replace the hinges with sturdier screws. I would highly recommend that anyone assembling this sandbox consider reinforcing it during the installation process. This is a great product - it just needs a little help to last.

Beautiful �C great purchase!
This sandbox is made of beautiful materials and is of great quality. It was very easy for us to build in 30 minutes. The hardest part was getting the sand into the sandbox. The lid is very durable and easy to use. We have been using it for almost a month and it feels great. We use it every day and it is a great value for money. One note: if rain is expected, place a large beach ball or something to create a dome effect in the middle of the sandbox before using the lid. I found out today that scooping water out of such a large sandbox is not an easy task.

Beautiful and suitable for small areas
Small? Yes, but perfect for my purpose and space. My grandson plays with his ball in my garden. I needed something that would fit my small space. I had a bag of play sand that needed a use. I saw this sandbox and all the pieces fit together. It was a pain to put together and instead of giving you a bunch of extra screws, they should have given you a few fewer long screws. I had to get some longer screws myself. As for the sand leaking out…didn't give it a chance…laid a layer of landscaping fabric on the bottom. One bag of sand filled it up. A little pricey for quality but it fits my vision. And if he's not playing in it, it would make a lovely garden decoration and I could put some plants in it. I would give it 5 stars but as I mentioned, the assembly design could be better. I bought a little plastic chair to put next to it for him to sit and play…can't wait to put it up and complete this area. Update: Chair received and it's perfect!

Great sandbox!
The quality of this sandbox is amazing! It is designed so that when it opens up, there are benches on either side. These little benches can seat up to three kids on each side, which is great when my grandson has company over. It opens up easily and is open for the kids to play. I love this design! When I bought this sandbox for my grandson, I also bought a cover to protect it from the Florida wind and rain. The sandbox looks the same as when we first bought it. It holds quite a bit of sand, but I usually only put 4 bags of sand in at a time. To further protect the sandbox from the wind and rain, we put a thick piece of plywood under the sandbox before setting it up. The sandbox also has a very sturdy tarp that is like cloth and can be placed in the sandbox before adding sand, which is also a great design.

We absolutely love this sandbox and couldn't be happier with our purchase! It's a practical and fun design that makes it a perfect addition to our backyard. Great little sandbox! It was easy to put together. The liner was easy to attach (used construction nails), but the lid had no fasteners. We had to weigh it down with toys to keep it from blowing away. Nice material, though. The sandbox is huge. The benches are just right for the kids. The kids loved it. We bought 1000 lbs of sand and filled it up just right. (Be careful with the sand! Ours ended up filled with dormant sand flea eggs. That was a nightmare, but salt and diatomaceous earth seem to kill them. Do not breathe in diatomaceous earth; it is silica and can tear up lung tissue. No dirt in your sand! Only salt!)

Suitable size, stylish appearance and versatile
This sandbox is the perfect size for several kids to have plenty of room to play. It was super easy to assemble and has perch seats on all four sides. It was also large enough that we were able to order a 67" diameter foldable wading pool to sit on the sand so it doesn't weigh down the lawn but gives the kids a soft, comfortable base. The included lid is completely useless. You'll need to order a sturdier lid with a wire rope and winch to secure it. The cedar sides of this sandbox look beautiful and I'm already planning on converting it into a raised succulent bed once the kids are older! :)
