Q: How do you recommend hanging the hammock to a tree?
submitted by Aaron - 7 years ago
A: i would recommend taking a hook and drilling it into the tree as far as safety goes
submitted bymoviemankev - 5 years agoA: Tie it to the tree with rope or really anything that you can use to tie with, idiot.

Cute swing but...
Two months in and it snapped! Unfortunately since I fell directly on to concrete I had more injuries than this thing is worth.

Happy with ours
For the price the quality is really good. This is our second time buying, only for the simple fact that ours is exposed to all weather conditions. We’re going to treat it first with some weather protection coating, even if it doesn’t work well, buying it again 2 years from now will still be worth it. Watching my girls swing around in it makes it even better.

We love these chairs.
We now have 4 of the chairs, hope they stay available in the future so we can replace if we wear these out. There is not need for hardware on these chairs. You hang them from your own deck roof, etc, so you have to decide what process you use to hang them. As for the stretch of the rope, if they did not stretch you would be sitting with you head on the ceiling. You hang them high enough to get them comfortable and as they stretch you raise the hook or chain used to hang them. Some people like being closer to the ground, other want their feet up. This is you choice. We have had our original chairs for three years now and love them. Once they have stretched to be comfortable and flexible they do not stretch any further. Our guests have all ordered because of what we have.

Hammock chair
This hammock is great if you want something inexpensive and fun for the kids. But for long relaxing swings it may not be the best choice. It is not super comfortable ergonomically. It really tucks you in a curled, chin to chest position and puts a lot of pressure under your knees if you hang your legs over. The kids enjoy romping around with it but if I were to want to read a book and swing I would choose a different spot. So my recommendation of 4 stars is based on price and quality.

Super comfortable!
Make sure to either purchase/build a free-standing base for this or be able to have two beams of wood to anchor this to. I tried to hang it from one solid piece of wood and it almost split it (I weigh 110 pounds). We bring it inside when we aren't using it so I expect it to last for a while. Great quality rope.

Great for sitting in the garden
I like this hammock. It's great if you don't have two trees to hang a regular hammock. It's comfortable and will provide hours of enjoyment in my garden.

Its a winner
I bought two of these several years ago. They are in a gazebo so they have a roof over them but they are not in an enclosed area. They don't get rained on but do get every day moisture. They have lasted a very long time and I am pleased to be able to buy them again. They are very comfy and strong. They do eventually stretch so they hang lower but that is to be expected.

Great for the price!
These are the first hammock chairs I've purchased and I'm very happy with them. Right out of the box they smelled a little like wood finish, but it went away after a day. They seem pretty durable so far. We hung 2 next to each other in our yard and really gave it a go at hammock swing bumper cars if you will, we did not fall so 2 thumbs up from me!

BE READY TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN HARDWARE
We ordered this hammock chair after ordering the same chair previously (at the same price). Last time, the hardware to hang it was included. This time it wasn't! The chair itself is fabulous quality (which is why we ordered a second chair...everybody always wants to sit in it on the porch!). [...]

4 years later and I need to replace it.
I am very happy with the wear of this product. I've had it four years and I finally need to replace it. I've left it out through 4 New England winters and it has held up surprisingly well. I would recommend it to anyone. Granted, if I took it in every fall I am sure I wouldn't be looking for a new one.

disappointed!
This swing was great (for about a day) until the rope stretched so much that we could no longer use it. Our ceiling is on the low side and there is no way to adjust the swing to make it shorter. Just make sure you have plenty of height....
