Q: What kind of finish is on the wood? Is it a clear lacquer or shellac?

A: I would say shellac as its kind of shiny and will come off with water marks and such. wood also cracked on us!

Love this little table
It's sturdy and not bulky. Just what I needed next to my recliner! Also just what I needed for the spot it's in as it is rectangular and relatively thin. I even had a piece of table glass cut for it because I put everything on it. Great product and certainly worth the price.

Wood Cracks
Liked it at first , but less than a year later the top and bottom wood cracked right through. Very disappointing considering the price. It loosens up a lot too but can be tightened. It was in a room with very little use and still the surface scratches extremely easily.

I love that this is real wood and not fake board wood. The real wood also does not show dust as easily. They are a great size too. Perfect to hold a laptop, drink, & whatever else you need by the couch or bed. Some of the wood is "worn" in places so that is why it is not 5/5 stars. Definitely a good price though!
