Q: About the top surface, is it water resistant? I plan to use it as one would an end table, to place drinks and other things on the table top. Will it swell or discolor? Or does it have a waterproof veneer on the top surface?

A: If something is spilled on the Steel River Side Table Carbon Oak and cleaned relatively fast, no damage will be done. But if the liquid has time to absorb, damage will occur (just like solid wood). We recommend using a coaster under drinks.
