Description
The 3.5mm (1/8 inch) stereo TRS connector is more commonly known as the Headphone Jack on portable mp3 players and mobile phones. This cable features a male 3.5mm stereo (TRS) plug on each end, with molded connector housings and strain relief boots. Each connector is gold-plated to ensure smooth, corrosion-free connections. The cable is made of heavy-duty coaxial cable for each conductor. The conductors are 22AWG and each conductor is shield to prevent EMI or RFI interference from entering your audio system. The cable is 12mm x 6mm thick, while the connector housings are 41mm long x 15mm diameter. Because of their size and weight these cables are best suited for more permanent connections, such as from your PC to your sound system. Also, because of the size of the connector head, these are unsuited for use with phone cases and may not fit within the expansion slot cutouts on the back of a PC case. If you want something more suitable for these applications, please try one of our standard 3.5mm audio cables.

It seemed to split the audio fine, but when a friend starting watching a youtube video before I got my headphones on, I noticed the sound was still coming out of the pc speakers. Not sure what the problem was. Looked just like the previous splitter, but the old one still works right and this one didn't. Not going to try and return a $0.99 splitter. Just going to try elsewhere.

This does not split your stereo source into two separate stereo sources for dual headphones use or whatever use you had planned. What is does it splits a stereo source into two mono channel sources. So it would be stereo into mono. Just thought I would clarify since the description leads you to believe it takes a Stereo source and splits it into two Stereo sources which it doesn't. Again, its Stereo to Mono.

This worked very well for me. I used the rear outputs to split the audio signal to my headphones and speakers so I would not have to use the front audio out jacks.. Plus the rear had a microphone input and the headphones came with a splitter. Now the front of the desktop has no wires coming out of it. The Monoprice audio splitter is very well made and everything snaps in with a positive click so I know it is connected well and will not come out nor have they. I have bought many Monoprice items and have never been let down by them. I really feel they build quality equipment and will continue to buy from them and recommend them to anyone.

This splitter cable is a basic, simple thing and does the job. It simply distributes the audio output signal to two speaker( set)s, and is short enough not to get all tangly.
