Description

Because it was originally based on the DVI standard, HDMI is backwards compatible with single-link Digital Visual Interface (DVI-D and DVI-I) signals. You can use this cable to connect a DVI-D/DVI-I output from your PC to display on your new big-screen HDTV (or vice versa)!

Ferrite Cores are small magnetic blocks wrapped around the end of a cable. They are used to suppress EMI/RFI electronic noise on the cable by absorbing the unwanted high frequencies and dissipating them as very low-level heat. This is the simplest and cheapest form of electronic noise reduction and is most effective on small gauge cabling, which is inherently more susceptible to electronic noise interference than thicker cables.

This cable is functionally equivalent to a High Speed HDMI cable and supports all High Speed HDMI functions, except audio (DVI has no provision for audio).

    Does what it should

    Nice solution for an older monitor with a DVI connection feeding an HDMI Mac. Works through a USB-C HDMI dongle too.

    Got this cable in attempt to fix a HDMI issue with Mac Mini 2018 "snow" problem. Was careless and didn't notice it was so long (6ft). Got shorter cable and also update MacOS - now issue resolved. Too expensive to send back - so I have an extra cable in the pile.

    works, great for 1080p, not great for 4k

    I use this primarily so I can connect an older 1080p monitor (which doesn't have HDMI) to my Surface Pro 7. For a 1080p monitor or so, this cable is great. However, there was a time I needed to connect my 4K monitor to a desktop PC and didn't have an HDMI-HDMI cable available so I used this in a pinch. At 4K with this cable I experienced color fringing on text (slight discoloration around text characters). I wouldn't recommend this cable with 4K monitors for extended periods of time. Not if you edit a lot of documents. And I certainly wouldn't use this cable on a 4K monitor when editing video or photos as color and clarity are extremely important with videos and photos. However, I strongly recommend the cable for 1080p and it's a very convenient cable.

    The Monoprice High Speed HDMI Cable to DVI Adapter Cable 6ft works the way I wanted.

    I wanted this Monoprice High Speed HDMI Cable to DVI Adapter Cable 6ft because it works. I plugged it into the DVI port of a Dell monitor to use as a third monitor for a iMac computer. By using this cable with the Monoprice 2X1 splitter, it allowed the Apple OS to recognize it as a third monitor. If I use a HDMI cable instead to the Dell monitor HDMI port, it did not get the third monitor recognized as I wanted. So this Monoprice High Speed HDMI Cable to DVI Adapter Cable 6ft was the best solution for what I wanted to configure.
