Burley Dash FM Bike Seat - Black/Gray

It arrived quickly and it only took about 45 minutes to unpack and fully install on my bike. I've been using it for three weeks and two observations caught my attention. The straps are difficult to adjust when you need to tighten them down, one of them has a tendency to fall off my child's shoulder. The other is the seatback is made of a very soft and cheap material that tears easily where the harness goes through it and into the seat back. Other than that I like the product. It seems well constructed and is easy to remove and reinstall. I don't regret buying it and I think it's a decent value. Some more wear resistant materials and better harness adjustment design would make it a good value.

I struggled to find a child seat option that would work for me. I tested a trailer once and was not a fan, and it wasn’t practical for getting around town. One reason I struggled to find a seat that would work is I have a gravel bike, which the geometry made it tricky to find any option that would work. Second reason is I am only 5’6” and have a 52cm frame, so there is limited mounting space on my bike. I spent quite a long time researching and comparing products and most options weren’t possible at all…until I found this seat. The 4” min mounting space just fits onto my seat tube and has been a dream to have. I take a lot of 1-2 mile trips around my town and my child and I both HATE getting in the car, this seat has brought life changing freedom to my life.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This spring my grandson was to heavy to strap on my back. He had grown and needed a safe seat of his own for my bike. I researched the quality and safety of a child's bike seat as that was tremendously important to me. Our grandson is our world. The straps will grow with him as well making this seat a great purchase. I looked at other child seats, but they were not nearly as effective and safe. I had to expect it would be easy to install the Dash® FM (Frame Mount) - Extended Rails to my trike bike with out modification. Burley reasurred me the seat of my choice would fit our bike. It was a breeze to install and easy to take off when he is not with us. I had to know when I strapped our Stormy Boy into the bike seat and took off peddling down the rode, that he would be as safe and comfortable as possible. He loves our precious time together. He is 2 years old and full of an adventurous spirit. The seat makes it easy for him to talk with us throughout our ride. His Nana and Papaw help him to explore his world and ours. Thanks Burley for enriching our life. I trust your product with my treasure! Doesn't Nana and Stormy Boy look wonderful? Gotta go as it is time to explore again.

Easy to install. It does feel a little wobbly, which is not ideal. But toddler loves it so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: (1) Burley seats are some of the few with a secure 5-point harness, not a 3-point one like Thule. (2) I bought a second mounting block, installed one block on my wife's bike and one on mine, and it's super easy to swap the seat back and forth: under 30 seconds to switch bikes. (3) My small 12-month-old (about 28" tall, 20 lbs) fits well in the seat, and it could have fit a smaller baby. Cons: (1) The seatback angle is totally wrong. Both our bikes have seatposts 15 degrees off vertical (pretty common), which makes the Dash seat back tilt 5 degrees forward. When we hit bumps or my daughter falls asleep, she slumps forward. The Dash X (which can recline) can't have extended rails and didn't fit my wife's smaller bike, so we're stuck with this one. I don't need the recline feature; I just wish the Dash FM were permanently fixed at an angle further back. (2) The mounting block should have anti-theft screws, and you should need a key to remove the seat from the mounting block. Because it's so easy to remove, I now need to carry an extra cable for my U lock to secure the seat.

Easy install, works well and very stable when in motion.

Amazing for my 2.5 yo daughter! She absolutely loves going on rides with me and this feels so secure and safe! Storage dept is for little things not much! Love this!

I bought this for my grandson and he loves biking with his parents. Very safe.

Very disappointed with the quality, plastic flimsy,straps cheap and not wide enough, there is no safety feature to hold child in if straps are unbuttoned. My grandson played immediately with the big yellow button. I wish I had bought the one that sits on a rack, the frame one fits only one of our bike frames. He loves to ride however do I am nervously using it. Burley did not live up to its name on this one.

Awesome purchase, I couldn’t be happier with the quality and ease of getting it set up on my bike. My kid also loves the seat, and I like how simple it is to get them in and out of it. Would definitely recommend.

The straps are basic clip style. I’m wondering if my daughter will be able to unbuckle it once she figures it out. The seat is very sturdy, and overall quality is great. Also, the little storage area is useful for emergency diapers, and or a spare inner tube.

This thing is awesome. Easy to assemble. My son fits great and loves riding along. Fits great in my trunk as well

Easy to install, sturdy for our 4 year old. The place to store phone, glasses, snacks, etc. is a welcome addition I did not find on other seats. Make sure you mount the holding bracket as high as possible. Ours was a little low and with the weight of a child caused rubbing between the back tire and security knob.

Quick easy install and like how quickly it can be removed if needed. My son has really enjoyed going for rides!

The bike seat is very nice and the straps are easy to use. Step up did not take too long once I read the directions. However, the frame mount doesn’t work that greatest on my schwin women’s frame bike. The Bike seat is about a 1/2” from the back tire.

The seat arrived quickly and the package was in perfect condition. Great quality easy to install. My kid loves riding in it.
