Q: is this r
seat easily removable for easy on easy off?
submitted by ReRe - 2 years ago
A: Once the seat is installed (which is a dreadful process), it cannot be removed easily without taking the entire seat off!

A: Hello,
Yes, the Skipper is easy to install and remove.

Q: Can this be installed in a gravel bike or road bike ??
submitted by Bree - 5 months ago
A: Hi Bree,
It depends on the bike model but it likely will as long as it does not have rear suspension. It is also not recommended putting it on a carbon frame.
Happy riding!

Q: Does this come with the mounting attachment?
submitted by Watsons mom - 3 years ago
A: Hello Watsons mom, Yes, the Skipper child carrier comes with all mounting hardware needed to install on your bike.
This bike seat is praised for its secure fit and comfort for toddlers, making it a great addition for family bike rides. However, guests have noted that installation can be challenging and the seat may not fit all bike types. The seat is lightweight but some parts are made of cheap material. It is best suited for smaller children.

The crappy plastic foot guard tore during installation so now I can't use it because my kid's feet hit the rear wheel. It took about an hour to install and required two wrenches.

Difficult to install and is too close to the seat. Just buy something more expensive from a different brand.

Set up was a little difficult but no more difficult than any other baby/toddler equipment we’ve ever purchased. This seat fits perfect on our bike and it feels very safe!! Fits our 3 year old who weights about 30 lbs.

I received an item that was already returned which isn’t a problem. What is a problem is that the nuts and bolts needed to securely and safely attach the child seat to my bike were missing or stripped. There were also unnecessary bolts, washers, and nuts that were included in the ziploc baggy in the box but were not in the manual.

It’s cheap material but is lightweight. Both my husband and I are good with building things, but this thing took both of us and lots of tools to put together. The bike guard plastic part broke before even attaching it, but it wasn’t really needed

Great seat for the little one. A bit small even for a smaller child. And could go back a bit farther on the seat it’s too close to the main seat. But really great while there a baby

This was very difficult to install. It took me 3 separate times. You have to take the adjuster off the bike seat so when you install, make certain it's at the correct height or it'll be stuck there forever. In this pic, my son was 1.5 years old. Can't remember how much he weighed but I'm guessing 25-30 lbs. As you can see, he's already a little squished. I didn't install the handle bar because it seemed like it would be in the way. He liked riding in it and it felt pretty sturdy. I needed to raise my seat because my legs are cramped but I can't now. When I'm peddling, my heels are constantly hitting the toes of my son's feet, even though his feet are in the holes. Now, my son is 3. He's 37 pounds and 36" tall. He still fits and he still loves to ride with me but it's the same 2 problems- can't raise the seat and me hitting his feet when I peddle. This is why I rated it a 3.

Seat sits way to close to my back. Also, I was constantly kicking my 18 month olds legs while pedaling.

I was definitely hesitant at first to buy this after reading all the negative reviews about how the seat doesn't work with all bikes and how hard it is to install but for $65 I was willing to take the risk since. I can definitely see how the install can be a little difficult as it took my about 2 hours to complete and I consider myself to be pretty handy. The main issue I had was the seat wouldn't fit at all with my first mountain bike I tried and you don't realize it until one of the very last steps that you just wasted a bunch of time. Luckily I have 4 different bikes in my garage so I quickly realized the issue and found another bike that it worked perfectly with so let me share what I found. The main deciding factor on whether this seat will work is the shape of the bar on your bike that runs from your bike seat area back to the rear tire. The first bike I tried it on had a thick round bar and this thing is definitely only meant to fit on narrow bars that are more rectangular shaped if that makes sense. I circled the bar in one of my photos so you can better see what I'm talking about.

I feel like this would be a great bike seat for a certain kind of bike, and it seems like every bike people have does not work . I tried on my bike but it was too close to my seat and it’s such a hassle to build . You’d need to have tools to build and be pretty handy as well . Not worth the money at all . Item returned .

Absolutely horrible. No instructions online to help. Even YouTube wasn’t helpful. The seat sits right on the chow bar and when you pedal you are constantly kicking your child’s feet. Very unstable and you consistently need tools.

Instructions are too confusing, got more help from YouTube. It should have a specific list of what bikes it fits on because I’ve been struggling trying to get it on my bike. I was so excited for it but now I’m just really disappointed I even bought it and didn’t return it in time. Thought I could get it on.

Cross bar for kid hands is too close to adult seat meaning it pushes against my back while I’m riding. Very annoying. Also once it is installed you lose the ability to quick change your seat height. Don’t waste your money, you’ll want to buy a different one

The size/age is completely off. I purchased this for me 22 month old and it was completely too small. He was literally kicking my legs as I was pedaling. Leg straps would also be nice. I returned the same day. Would recommend for younger/ smaller children.

It works well. To my husband a good hour to install, who is super handy. I would advise putting this on before you take it on a trip etc. I bought this instead of others because of the extra guards. Only to find out they are cheap plastic, but functional. I have a ladies mountain bike, without shocks, and it fit. We didn't install the bar/ test because it was a tight fit.

We bought this seat for our 18 month old at the time; installing it was time intensive and it is not compatible with all bikes, it wouldn’t work on my Specialized bike so we had to put it on my husband’s Giant. After a while, the part that attaches the carrier to the parent bike seat loosens and the seat no longer stays at its set height. While it worked, it was fine, but in the end we deemed it a waste of money because the parts have broken and we couldn’t switch bikes.
