We started Van Leeuwen Ice Cream in a yellow truck on the streets of NYC in 2008 with a mission to make good ice cream that makes you feel good. Nowadays, people can spend so much time on what’s “healthy” they don’t stop to consider what’s healthy. As far as we’re concerned, happiness is healthiness.

And nothing makes us happier than this Cookies & Cream Ice Cream. Nothing. Not children. Not dogs. Not rainbows. Nothing. Dark chocolate chip cookies + a rich cream filling + cold-ground vanilla bean ice cream = non-child, non-dog, non-rainbow happiness.

Not Van Van Leeuwen's best flavor

While many Van Leeuwen flavors are amazing and could win best in class, the cookies and cream flavor is just meh. You really only taste the cookies (which have decent flavor at best) and any cream flavor is completely lost. There are far better options out there (Haagen Dazs, Brighams).

Non-vegan opinion

I’m a person that is lactose intolerant, and so I don’t get ice cream too much. I tried this on a “why not” whim and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s not Oreo but it’s definitely a great alternative. It’s creamy, but not too thick or melty. Thought I’d share a non-vegan opinion.
