Finding a consistent 48GHz certified fiber cable
The Monoprice 8k ultra speed fiber optic certified HDMI cable arrived in good shape and is working fine. I'm using it with a MadVR Envy Core MK2 and JVC NZ700. So far (1 month) I have not experienced any of the HDMI video drop outs I've read about on forums. This cable replaces an 18GHz cable from Monoprice that also worked well.

Failed after 2 years and they wont honor warranty stay away
This cable was run from my receiver to the projector in my theatre. It failed in under two years so i filed for a replacement. They cancelled the RMA and WILL NOT honor it. Stay away.

Finally, a cable that works!
I went through 3 cables before landing on this one that actually functions for the configuration I want. I have an RTX4070 that I want to use to drive a TV from across the room, and it's about a 30ft cable run. Initially, I had gotten a 35' HDMI 2.1 cable (regular copper), it would intermittently get 4k120, but would drop the signal every so often while gaming (90-120 seconds and black out for half a second or longer). Getting the GPU to negotiate the 120Hz signal was also inconsistent. Fine, got rid of that cable, and tried an active, optical, 50' (shortest length available) HDMI 2.1 cable from Unitek. It would negotiate 4k120, but my TV would not render a signal when requesting 4k120, only backing down to 4k60 would give me a picture on the screen. I thought maybe it's defective and tried again, no dice, same deal. In the end, I came across monoprice's offering, where it's "certified" to be able to do 8k60 and 4k120. Fine, spent a little more (price per foot). Just ran the cable, and fired up the picture, 4k120, negotiates instantly, shows a picture instantly. Boom. It works! If you want to be sure to get the 8k60 or 4k120 signal, get this cable! Anything else and it might or might not work for you.

My search for a long cable that works, continues..
After seeing positive reviews from people getting 4k120 with this cable, I gave it a go, but unfortunately, I've had nothing but issues with it.. I got the 24ft cable.. HTPC is running a 3070ti connected to LG C9.. 4k 60Hz works fine, but I get no signal when I switch to 10 bit and it won't successfully switch to 120 Hz.. Turning HDR on in Windows was also giving no signal.. Messed around with it a few hours.. Moved my PC closer to the tv, temporarily, and tried the Monoprice 8K Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable, 48Gbps, Black, 10ft that I also purchased and everything worked perfectly right away.. Also noticed the slimrun connector gets pretty warm, where as the 10 footer isn't doing that..

No HDR or 4K120
2 stars because although it does work for basic 4k60hz over long distances it does not in fact support 4k120hz or even HDR at 4k60hz. Source is an RTX 3080 with the latest drivers and display is a Sony A90J OLED with the latest firmware. Passive cables had no issue with these features. Ended up buying a more expensive cable from phoossno that actually supports 4K120 and HDR.

Works great at 4K 120Hz
I got the 65 ft version for use with my RTX 3070 and LG C1 OLED TV. So far, it's worked perfectly at 4K 120hz with HDR. While I would (of course) have loved to paid less, it's by far the best price I've seen for a certified optical cable with a lifetime warranty. Plus it works! So I'm happy.
