It is heavy and isn't going to be moved around or blown around easily. The half moon style is nice too because it doesn't stick out very far so it might be a tripping hazard.

It was also very easy to attach my umbrella to it. We have this sitting on our pool deck and it does a great job. Very sturdy.

I was impressed with the weight of this base. The base itself is heavy duty and amazing quality. I know this base will last me for years as it is waterproof, UV resistant and rust free. This base supports my umbrella with no issues. We just recently had multiple days of rain and winds and this stand kept my umbrella secure! I also like how this stand can be used with a variety of different umbrellas including tilt, table and freestanding umbrellas. If you are looking for a new umbrella base, I highly recommend this half-moon base by Pure Garden! This would also make a great gift!
