Q: Will this secure an umbrella that is 1.5" diameter? Just wondering if the little peg actually tightens.

A: Hi Zay - The interior diameter of the umbrella base is approximately 1.8”—so should be able to accommodate a 1.5” umbrella pole. The set screw does tighten to secure the umbrella pole into the base. - Faith

Started resting within a month. This bolt on the bottom will loosen overtime despite how hard you tighten it initially. If you’re using this in a windy place, don’t waste your time buying it. It knocked over multiple times onto the ground, despite two cinderblocks on top of the base. Would NOT recommend

Missing the hardware and can’t be used freestanding even though that’s how it is pictured on the website. On the box it is actually called a Table Umbrella Base unlike on the website where it’s called an Outdoor Patio Umbrella Base and there is no mention of needing a table. The box directions say it must be used in a table and it’s not secure freestanding, but I can’t try it anyway because it was missing the hardware.
